Comment:
Horrible Professor. His marking is completely unreasonable. He marks all assignments out of 10 and takes deductions of -1 or -2, with every mistake. For example I received a assignment had 13 questions, that was marked out of 10, and I received -2 deduction on wrong answers. Meaning if you get everything wrong you would receive a -160%

I took 3d modelling, learning Autodesk Inventor with James. He is very knowledgeable about the subject, but you can tell that his main passion is cars. He is a bit of a nitpicky marker, but overall is pretty fair.

I really like James. He's a good teacher who seems to really like his job. He's dedicated and hard working (although he doesn't seem to like marking assignments). He takes an interest in the students and enjoys talking about his subject outside of the classroom.

He is one of the most organized and prepared teachers in the mechanical department. Even if he doesn't know the answer to a problem, or just random question, he'll admit it, and help you find a solution/reason for 'why'. Extremely helpfull prof.

Same out of the textbook teaching style. He does teach to solve problems in a simpler way than Hibbler for most questions. Tests are great! He assigns questions from the text for review and gives them on the tests, just changes the numbers.

Teaches in reference to the textbook, but explains the material a lot nicer. Marking system is fair, all questions marked in the same format. Makes nice tests, they are the same questions as assignments/review problems just changes the numbers.

He only goes over easy examples in class, but the tests always manage to throw a curve ball. Just doesn't seem all that interested in teaching. As others have said, he is better at teaching CAD/CAM classes.

Just taught right out of the testbook. Not very good at putting into easier terms and had troubles answering questions thoroughly. overall, not the greatest teacher for this subject

Teaches less academic subjects like CAD/CAM well, but isnt very helpful in math-intensive courses. Marking style is binary, when it gets marked.

Apparantly needs to teach his students how to spell. I don't care how arrogant he is, the simple mechanics of the English language cannot be overrated.

He can't teach worth a damn, it's a good thing that teaching isnt his money maker, he's unclear, never there for help and doesnt mark assignments. When midterms and finals come around is it a big suprise that all the marks are low?
