Comment:
Lectures consist of flying through Powerpoints or reading answers to practice problems. Labs are engaging and well planned. The midterms seems horrible but they get scaled so don't worry too much. (65s turn into 90s, just do the problems you know) take notes during labs to bring into the lab tests, there is a lot to do in two hours.

James was a friendly prof, although he does recite from the text. He was helpful with hw and in the labs. His hw isn't bad, as long as u read examples from the book. Tests are similar to the hw questions. Overall not that difficult of a class, especially if u need to upgrade physics for any programs at bcit

Comment:
Nice guy. Lectures are long and confusing, veers off topic often, & does not clearly associate learning objectives to lectures. Does not like students to ask questions as it wastes time. Tends to get agitated when asked to clarify processes or calculations. Most learning I did at home with the text. Truly disappointed in the course.

To be honest, I dont learn anything in his class. He is very knowledgeable however all he does is talk. There's not really any notes as his notes are from his textbook. I hope we could take notes in class so we can actually learn some things. Midterm is based on all his questions from the quizzes... Also theres mastering physics questions to do

James doesn't know a whole lot about electronics BUT he is a great physicist. All you need to pass the course is: -Attend classes -Do the practice tests in the text -Practice the pop quizzes before exams.Lab tests are brutal, esp the second one.

Comment:
he derives too many formulas! formulas do not mean understanding! his tests are unclear, he rambles on about space, he thinks everything is "trivial" when it's obviously not. he has absolutely NO interest in electronics and should not be teaching in the ECET program.

He just goes over what's in the textbook, textbook not too good. Pop quizzes and tests are badly structured, but he makes an attempt to teach at least...just doesn't do too well at it
