If you get him for this class and can't switch, unless you need to take this class, just drop it. The class is unnecessarily difficult and its not worth taking as a GE. I was panicked because I started this class at a D+ but then he started grading easier. The only grades are 7 tests but he drops the lowest one. TAKE GOOD NOTES!

Comment:

Professor Darlington was one of my favorite professors. I enjoyed his sense of humor, and although lectures could drag on, he was so cute and passionate about the subject. The class was an easy A as long as you showed up and participated at least 8 times, and studied the guides he gives for the exams. Would definitely take another class with him.

I went to Professor Darlington after class one night because I had a question about the exam we had gotten back. When I started asking him about it he told me to hurry up. This guy is boring, rude and test are 90% of your grade. Without a tutor or studying like crazy this class is impossible. DO NOT take this class.

Worst teacher I have ever had. Went to him for help and he told me there was nothing he could tell me and didn't know what to say. The tests are 90% of your grade, and they are essays which have at least 3-4 parts/questions to them, and if you do not answer with exactly what he wants you to say (which you don't know) you do poorly. AVOID

Professor Darlington's class was the most test-heavy class I have ever taken. We had a test every other week. He is a tough grader and if you don't put his exact words as the answer, you will get it wrong. Lectures are very boring. Holds you till the very last minute even on test days. Participation is also mandatory (at least 8 classes).

Professor Darlington is honestly one of the kindest and most genuine professors I've ever had. Some may complain about the lectures being boring, but all you really have to do is show up and raise your hand a few times and its an easy grade. The tests are simple if you follow the guide and he's very approachable despite his hearing loss. Great guy!

Your overall grade for the class is based on 6/7 tests that he gives EVERY OTHER WEEK. He is extremely boring and he uses every second of class everyday. He is not easy to talk to or approach, if you go to him for help you wont get it. He grades based on his own opinion. His tests are impossible to pass and his notes are useless. Must talk 8 times

Professor Darlington is very nice. His lectures are boring but you can tell that he really likes the subject he is teaching. If you participate 8 times you get an A for participation. There are 7 tests (including the final) and he drops the lowest test grade. I would take him again.

Incredibly smart guy but a terrible professor who does not know how to teach. The class is best 6/7 tests that are either a hit or a miss. Very easy to cheat on tests but the tests still take a lot of preparation. I would take the class if you want no other assignments than tests.

Professor Darlington is such a nice guy. The class is pretty boring, but he really cares about the material and tries to make it interesting. He gives 7 tests and the lowest one gets dropped. He has study guides that give you the essay questions ahead of time so that's helpful. You have to talk 8 times in class to get an 100% on participation

He is a really nice guy, but his lectures suck and the whole class sits on there phones the whole time. You get more out of reading the text book then all the lectures put together. Participation is big and its so boring you don't want to. Tests are pretty easy but he wants his answer not the textbooks. Overall i would not recommend.

The class was pretty boring but, he definitely loves his job and is enthusiastic about the subject. Tests were easy if you attend lectures and study the guide he provides. My biggest complaint was that he gave too many examples and he often would take a 1/2 hour to explain a concept or a power point slide that wasn't difficult.

he's not that bad of a professor... really boring class though but it's also really easy. A lot of it is common sense. He gives you 3 example essays a week before the test to study and one of them will be the test. Very self explanatory. Easy credit but the class is like you're in school on Ferris Bueler's day off

Not a bad guy. His classes are very boring, but if you can pay attention and take notes it will be very helpful. The only grades in his class are tests, attendance and participation. The tests aren't TOO hard... he gives a study guide for each test so if you prepare well then you will do fine in this class.

Most, if not all, students give him a hard time or are just plain disrespectful for no reason - THEY are the problem, not him. Darlington really knows his stuff and his class is interesting and a good challenge. Pay attention in class - he's got some cool facts and helpful analogies!

This guy is one of the worst teachers iv ever had. He's a jerk and takes forever to respond to emails. He is unbearably boring and everyone just sleeps or goes on their laptops. Hes too smart for his own good and has no idea how to teach the material or get through to his students. He grades so hard and doesnt give notes. Dont take his class!
