At first the class can seem like a nightmare since it is very quiz heavy in the beginning and you're forced to get out of your comfort zone. Honestly though, he's a really nice guy and an easy grader as long as you put in effort. He doesn't want to grade tough or fail anyone, just actually try and you'll get an A

COMM108 could be a theatre class. First half of semester is theory and tests, second half is performances. Charismatic, serious about the craft, makes you work for the grade and show up. Be ready for solo performances in front of the class, and have some classic lit under your belt. He never says due-dates, but they're on the schedule.

He really tries to be an enthusiastic professor, but definitely didn't do it for me. 1. If you don't like clowns he does a scary clown voice 2. Automatic C if you give a speech with a trivial topic (ex: informative speech on a party automatic C). However, he is clear and tells you exactly what he expects.

Horrible guy, doesn't care about your opinion. He went to clown school which he thinks is funny but it is actually really annoying. Don't recommend taking him.

He is a great teacher he expects a lot from his students because he knows you can do the work. Makes class super entertaining there will almost never be a boring class. You only need to read 8 chapters throughout the whole semester. I highly recommend people to take this class, you will not regret it.

I took Communications 100 with J. Floss back in 2012. In the class he demonstrates effective speech making everyday with inspiring, riveting, and heartfelt lectures. More than anything, he gives a fantastic approach to structure speeches. In the 3 years since this class it has done my naught but good. Take this class before dropping out!

Floss is amazing. He gave constructive criticism on each performance, and really went the extra mile to help us be comfortable with being vulnerable on stage in front of our classmates. This class helped me find myself.

Floss is funny and knows his material. However, he does not tell you in the syllabus about a paper after each round of speeches and he isnt clear on what he wants in it. It seemed like he graded a little too harshly on peoples topics as well.

Horrible experiance! He doesn't know how to take charge of a classroom. He thinks that jokes will solve everything. I will admit he knows his stuff. I enjoyed the material, not the professor.

He provides a very clear syllabus and web page for all assignments. If you listen and read, you will pass the class with no problem. He was completely fair and clear with grading. He made the entire class a safe place to give & take constructive criticism.

He is very serious about communication. He is clear in what he wants and his expectations are high. If you prepare before class, you will do fine! You deff. need the textbook, as the final and midterm are based on the text. You will have to purchase a supplementary packet for the class.

Best Teacher i have ever had! he is full of energy and will help you when you ask for it. He tells you what you need to do to succeed in his class on the first day. Read the book, come to class, try on your speeches, and your golden!

He was a decent teacher it was easy to get a good grade because he clearly laid out the rubric and all you had to do is follow it but he shared way too much of his personal views, all of which were liberal and he even went so far as to say that he needed to renew his "315" card soon. The class quickly told him that it is called 215. Not appropriate

He's very intimidating at first, but as you get to know him he's great! He knows what he's doing and he makes the lectures fun with his acting skills. I have learned so much from this class and I recommend him. The speeches take a lot of preparation, so just do the work and you'll be fine. Overall he's a great teacher.
