Pretty useless going to class.. I usually just took a nap. Get Grants & make it your stats bible. Although he is really nice, you have to concentrate REALLY hard to understand what he's saying.. not worth it!

I pity the Fu. He seems like a nice enough fellow, and he tries hard to explain things, but as others have (crassly) put, the language barrier is rather unbearable most of the time. A+ for effort in his part, but as for the outcome... just transfer to a different section if at all possible.

If you get stuck with this guy for stats 1, dont panic... his tests are fairly easy; just make sure you cover Hypothesis testings THOROUGHLY before the final exam.

Jumps back and forth, hard to understand, goes thru lots of notes fast, teaches us how to do questions similar to assignments after we had to hand them in, doubt he looks at the assignment ahead of time, quite nice to talk to and approachable, but he's not that helpful at all, although he will look over assignments that have been marked unfairly.

It helps if you're already good in math, it's a little difficult to understand him. Just take notes and make sence of them, and also remember : you're in university, things shouldn't be spoon fed to you.

Simply horrible. It seems that being able to speak English is not a prerequisite to teach stats at the U of M. Would have failed miserably if it weren't for Grants notes!

Doesnt explain anything and then just draws a random picture on the board. (which looks like a peice of cheese) Then considers that adequate explanation for math stats theory. Doesnt give ANY examples and then assigns assignments on material not covered.

I had a really hard time learning from this guy. He is unclear in the way he speaks and the way he "teaches". He is not responsive to anybody's questions in class. To make things worse, he gives you optional material that only his class needs to know. Unfortunatly he makes a poor effort to teach this to his students. Definatly avoid this prof.

Useful translation notes for his class: When he says Aardvark, he means Alpha. When he says Goose, he means goods. You can't understand a word this man says, he tests you on material that HE DOESN'T BOTHER TO TEACH, and he is off in his own little world while he teaches. He doesn't notice nobody can understand the material, nor decipher his accent.

holy hell, i dropped this course 3 weeks into it after the first assignment had a bunch of crap on it that he didn't cover in class! that VW is my proudest mark this term! i was too busy decoding his fractured english to get any of the math out of his lectures. too bad; he was nice enough. save your time and money; take "math in art"!

Can't understand a single word he says. Jumps back and forth in notes..doesn't explain his examples...Gives you assignments on things he hasnt taught yet...and not to mention included material on the exam he never taught us ie. A whole chapter. Avoid this prof at all costs. If it's the only class left...take it next year...TRUST ME
