Garson is awesome! He gets so into the material so hes definitely not boring. He wants you to learn and encourages questions. Attendance is not mandatory but it is highly recommended that you go to class because it is easy to get lost not knowing what to do on the homework.

I graduated from UH years ago and went on to an ivy league MA program and then (after selling out!) a top MBA program. Even after paying 5x the tuition I paid at UH, I have yet to find another professor as remarkable as Dr. Garson.

Dr. Garson is an amazing professor- super clear, passionate, and fun! For Logic I, it seems like you either really get it or you don't at all. I personally found it really easy and enjoyable. I would definitely recommend him to anybody.

Garson is amazing! For this class, you absolutely must attend lecture or you'll be lost. However, he is awesome at clarifying if you have questions and he will even do his best to help your grade towards the final if you've done all the work. Homework turn-ins are random, so make sure you do them. Take notes! Lots of examples are on his tests!!

This is one of those courses that you either get the material or you don't. There were over 120students at the beginning of the class and by the end there were less than 50. He is clear and concise in teaching, but if you don't get the material, just drop the course. There are quizzes after each section and one comprehensive final at the end.

definitely not a easy class, but not impossible. He is super enthusiastic !! so you will be laughing A LOT! but do your homework & ACTUALLY STUDY ! and you will make an A. Final is not hard, just accumulation of all you have learned. SO LEARN ! the only annoying thing is quiz every tuesday. but you will get use to it. HE IS A GOOD PROFESSOR THOUGH.

Great professor! Do the HW, keep all quizzes and go over every problem he emphasizes in class. If you skip class and don't put in the work your grades show it! He tells you what's on every exam... Final was 3 pages with less than 10 problems, all the concepts of class put together. SUPER EASY if you actually pay attention!

I took Logic 1 to fulfill my 2nd math requirement, and I learned a lot. I kind of wish I'd taken this before College Algebra;it might have helped. Homework is a big deal in this class, and his tests aren't easy. If you don't have an A on your first test, drop the class; if you don't get it then, you never will.

Probably the best teacher I have had so far. He goes out of his way to make sure you understand the material and does multiple examples. I wouldnt miss class otherwise you will be deathly behind, but if I was to continue logic I would want nobody else to teach me. Extremely great teacher.

Dr. Garson is the best professor I have ever had. He definitely expects the student to work, but will tutor you personally during his office hours. He will even change his office hours if need be. He is very clear, helpful, and passionate about his work. Definitely take his class as long as you are prepared to use your brain.

I don't think I can fathom a better teacher. So inspirational. Also one of the most difficult courses I've ever taken, but it's worth it. Somehow managed a B, but I would take him again even if I was guaranteed no better than a C. He's worth the GPA damage, and you won't really understand what I mean until you take one of his non-logic courses.

Good luck, out of 50 students 2 made A's and over half failed. Get your money back or switch classes. Seriously, the guy has a complex. I have never experienced such a bad teacher.

DO NOT TAKE THIS GUY'S CLASS. He is the worst professor I have ever experienced through my whole college career. He is full of himself and couldn't teach a dog to sit. Students beware he will fail you if you argue with him and don't attempt his extra credit because he will make you jump through hoops for nothing. WORST TEACHER EVER

Dr. Garson really knows his stuff. I wish I could have taken his modal logic class. You HAVE to do the work to get an A, it's not easy, but it's worth it. I love logic, and he helped me appreciate the very abstract discipline much more.

Dr. Garson is fully one of the most amazing teachers I've ever had. One of the best things about him is that it's clear that he really loves the subject and wants you to love it too. I had him for both Logic I and II, and if I could stay for Mathematical Logic, I most definitely would. Just go to every class, take good notes, and ASK QUESTIONS.
