He is a nice guy. He is willing to help you when he's available and is approachable. There is one 10 page paper and 3 tests. The tests are not hard as long as you complete the study guide (which do take a lot of time)

Overall Mills was a nice professor and I am planning to take his class again. Tests are tough and review sheets that he gives do not match exams. There is a 10 page paper due at the end of the semester on an indigenous group. He is willing to meet whenever you need and is helpful during office hours (use them).

DONT take his class. I loved the topic until I took it. Hes dry, lecture heavy, and he goes through his slides impossibly fast. His study guides are 5 pages long in 8pt font and his tests' length reflects that. There is waaaay too much information to know. Plus every time I proposed an idea for my research essay, he "didnt get it" but it was clear?

Go to his office hours to introduce yourself, if you build a relationship he respects that and asking for help is easier when he knows you. Very understanding when you show interest and put in the effort. Printing out the worksheets he puts up before class is a MUST, easy way to stay organized and focused. Recommended professor

Didn't learn a thing. Mills means well and is incredibly intelligent, but he isn't the best professor. Class was run entirely by awful student presentations. He lectured about 5 times total the semester. If he changed the way the class was run, maybe it would be better.

Awesome and nice guy! Lectures I find extremely boring and abstract however ex: what is beauty? Doesnt take attendance and probably won't penalize for skipping. Lenient with due dates and will definitely help you out if you show him effort.

Overall, great guy! He posts the lecture notes online. Only 2 tests and a final (Gives online study guides). There's a 10 page paper, but he's very helpful with finding sources with you.

I loved this class! Professor Mills is very witty and kind of awkward which made for a good dynamic in the lecture. He knows A LOT, and going in to talk to him for office hours really boosted my grade. He is a very intelligent and kind person. Tests are difficult so STUDY, and the HW assignments are long but relatively easy.

He is a nice guy. Expect homework, it isn't hard just a little long and you have over a week to do it. He gives detailed study guides. I didn't study much. I just went to class and the tests are on what he lectures. Test were pretty easy.

The guy is super sweet and nice. Kind of awkward but if you go to his office for questions he loves it! Got 70s on all of the tests but i would go to office all the time for questions and got a 100 on the paper. Doesn't count attendance never really went to class... somehow got a B. Love him!!

He is a very nice and insightful professor. There is no textbook, instead he posts readings online. Class consists of powerpoint lectures - he goes really fast with the slides so that sucked. He always gives out a study guide for the tests - which are very long but if you take the time to complete the study guide then you will do great!

I do feel like I learned something from this class, but I was very disapointed in the fairness of grading. I attended all classes for the first exam and almost every question was based off several large electronic reserve articles. If you ask what to review for the answer is pretty much: Everything. You can independently learn this material.

Very boring class but Dr. Mills is very nice and helpful! He gives tough tests - make sure you do ALL the readings and attend class frequently otherwise, you won't do well on the tests. There are two big projects and 3 exams for the class.
