I took elements of ethology. great prof. about 11 of us. He gives a lecture (w/o powerpoint) but notes are pretty easy to take. willing to repeat. very easy to approach and friendly. ask him what you need to do to do well, he WILL tell you. loved this class! lots of reading, movies, lab trips. keeps it interesting. go to class and you'll do well

NEVER take PSYC 2510! I've had him for PSYC 1200 and didn't mind it, but PSYC 2510 is the biggest joke at the U of M! The entire course is based on a topic that is completely relevant, and Shapiro will make you feel stupid regardless of what you say. He also loves to hear himself talk WAY too much and doesn't give anyone else a chance.

Prof. Shapiro was GREAT! I loved his class the most. He was very clear in what he expected you to know for assignments and tests. He made the class very exciting and enviting. I would love to take more classes with him.

Nice prof, lectures are very random and he does not use powerpoint notes. For the most part, they are useless. Use the text to study and you should do DECENT, the tests are very random and test on stuff not covered. READ the practice tests in the syllabis, half the questions are from there!!

his class is very interesting but very hard. the textbook is very poor and difficult to understand. no profs use it but he still use it. the tests are horrible and the final grade are lower than other prof in U of M. DON'T TAKE HIS CLASS IF YOU WANT A HIGH GRADE.

Not Very good. He teaches based on some of his research experiments, which have not been validated, as if they were fact. His exams do not correspond to the material he says they are being tested on. He does give you the option to drop the lowest test, which is good. He is rude to you if you disagree with his answers. Ruins interest in psyc.

He's a good prof. I loved every minute of that class. I do think he made friends with students and joked and eased the tension in class all the time. He talked about birds to drive a point home about what the definition of psychology was. I would take his class again and again. He's excellent!

Absolutly no interset in the individual student. Could not be bothered in the least to help you out.I lost all interest in this course after taking his.Spends too much talking about his birds and not the class, also, he thinks everybody in his class is 18, and teaches to that level/mentallity.I would never take another of his classes.

Very inconsiderate of students when it comes to marks. Not funny, rude and sometimes lectures on things that are not related to the course at all. If you want a good mark in this course, I do not recommend this prof. Horrible!

Tests are extremely hard. You have to study in detail everything from the text, which I might add he doesnt cover in class. I wouldnt take another of his calsses again. He is kind of grouchy too.
