Easily my favorite professor. Classes are straightforward and provides "outlines" for each section. Although, I would not entirely rely on those outlines for the test. They are meant to cover the essential topics. Tests are tricky but fair. He is funny and loves what he does. Attendance or watching video recording is "required" to do well.

Tomkovicz is a real person. Most law school professors r tightwad ego-maniacs. This guy actually cares about his students. At first he drove me crazy, but by the end of the semester he helped me to see that a few law professors at least have a gift for teaching. And even if you're the most isolated student, he makes you feel like u belong & matter.

Absolutely the best law professor I had at University of Iowa College of Law. GREAT teacher -- energetic, humorous, like having Robin Williams teach you criminal law! Crystal clear with his explanations, fair in the way he calls on people, tests are difficult as one would expect, but not killers, really cares. Just excellent, period.

Tomko is a rare type of law prof--a brilliant legal mind AND a caring, competent educator. His tests are difficult, but fair. My only complaint is that, if he calls on you in class, it seems endless. Go to class prepared and be ready to enjoy!

Incredibly knowledgeable and hardworking professor. One of the few profs at Iowa who cares about teaching. Made me want to come to class and kept me off the internet (no small feat!) He moves quickly, but it kept me on my toes. Lovably quirky.
