Comment:

Professor Minac is one of the greatest professors that I have had during my time at university. Jan is incredibly caring, compassionate, and inspiring. He provides an amazing lecture environment that emphasizes understanding and illustrates the beauty of mathematics. Jan will do anything to help his students succeed. He is truly incredible!

Professor Minac is very dedicated and hard-working, as is demonstrated repeatedly by the amount of thought he puts into his classes. He is incredibly caring, and never hesitates to stay after lectures to help students with their questions, or to discuss mathematics in general. His passion and excitement are contagious to his students.

Prof. Minac is very passionate and excited to teach math. He is quirky and awkward but very nice. However, he is unorganized, doesn't follow any clear lesson plan, and his chalk board writing is scattered and hard to follow. His lectures do not prepare you thoroughly and systematically for his assignments or exams. I had to learn everything myself!

Dr. Minac is a fervently enthusiastic soul! He is overtly passionate about the subject matter he teaches, and as a result, is a tremendous source of inspiration for those interested in his line of work. Dr. Minac is very welcoming of students that want to learn a bit more than what is involved in the course, and would even stay behind to help.

Jan is an amazing educator. He engages the whole classroom for the entire duration of the class and makes sure not to leave any students with difficulties behind. His appreciation of the beauty of mathematics shines through his lectures. He has both a fantastic attitude and phenomenal understanding of the subject. I recommend the class to all.

He is hands down the most personal and genuine professor you will get to meet in your entire Western degree. He motivates his students by rewarding you with a toy (though you return it back at the of class) and knows everyone by their name. If he knows anything about you, he will always connect your interests with the topic. Best prof so far at UWO

This class was not well described in the syllabus which made it difficult to actually know what was covered. Thus going to this class is mandatory. He gave only two assignments, the second of which he assigned 3 days before classes ended and had it due during the exam period. He spends far too much time recalling material from the previous lectures

Jan is a delightful instructor and person. He knows deeply the material and is totally explanatory and helping. He is so inspiring and energetic and enthusiastic! Although the material was really tough, Jan made it so much fun and interesting! Class was a real party and certainly made every single of my days. Take his class in every chance possible

Jan was the best professor I had in undergrad! He was both inspirational and effective as a teacher. Some of the best memories I have from undergrad are from his lectures. His enthusiasm is contagious and he has the unique ability to turn seemingly uninteresting theorems into concepts that you want to keep learning about. Thanks for everything Jan!

I love Minac! He is BY FAR the best prof I have ever had and quite possibly my favourite teacher/prof ever! He is so enthusiastic. You can tell he really cares about his students. I think that he speaks good English. English is not my first language and I can understand everything in class. He can explain complicated subjects using just simple math, I like that. He knows what he is doing and he love to teach, every body can say that.

He made me fall in love with Mathematics :). He has great enthusiasm in everything he teaches, and tries to make sure all the students understand the material. His Czech-Check joke is hilarious and who can forget the celebrations after proofs :D
