Easiest class ever. Assignments are one writing piece a week, which half the time I wrote in the hour and half I had between this class and my geology lab. Super nice lady though, and the small class size actually makes everyone somewhat close to each other. Best GER option for sure.

She's pretty cool and gives pretty good, nice critiques. As long as you show and write a piece you will get a good grade. Not too much work. Only 1 hour of class a week - she splits up the 2 hour period into 2 groups. It might not help you become a better writer necessarily, but it's a fun experience. Great for the GER!

Ashworth is sweet and hilarious! Super easy class (she only grades on completion/attendance) and she gives fun writing assignments. Attendance is mandatory but if you talk to her she can be flexible. However, the class is almost zero instruction, just writing and reading your piece aloud, so you may not improve a ton as a writer. Still recommend!

She's really nice. The films and books we read in romance were very good. I loved all of them. She's a bit unclear on what she wants for essays but if you're a strong writer, you'll be fine. There's 3 response papers (1-2 pgs), 2 essays (3-5 pages), a group presentation, and an individual presentation. Mack is really helpful on presentations.

Ashworth believes that real grading forces students to write what they think is right, not what they want to write and stifles their creativity. If you want a safe space to have people tell you what they like about your work and get confidence, take her class. If you're looking for serious critique, don't take this class. Easy A, but MUST attend

Ashworth is absolutely useless. Shows up unprepared, shows no interest in students, and offers little to no help with your writing. I do not understand these other reviews, because they were not in my experience.

Creative Writing - By far the most fun class I've taken. Prof Ashworth creates a great environment, and even if you're as far from a writer as possible, she'll find redeeming qualities about any of your pieces. Highly recommend. Also splits her 2 hours classes up into 1 hour sessions!

Extremely nice lady. Writing assignments are fun and you're guaranteed an A as long as you show up and do the work. You have to read your work out loud, but she creates a supportive atmosphere so it's not too bad. By the same token, you also won't get a lot of constructive criticism. Easy, fun way to get an A and a GER.

She is of the philosophy that writing should be done for her class without fear of judgement. This means that as long as you do the work, and show up, it's an easy A, and you don't have to have a panic attack about your writing. It's a judgment-free zone. However, it also means that if you're looking for critique, look elsewhere, or after class.

Very unclear with what she expects you to write for her essays. Basically expects her students to have her syllabus memorized. She plays favorites, so if you get on her good side you will be fine, but if she does not like you, she will find a way to obliterate your grade. She also has a very creepy smile; it is the epitome of evil.

I am a terrible writer and got an A in this class. It's an automatic A as long as you go to class and abide by her rules. The only bad part about this class is the fact that you have to read your stories out loud in class, which was embarrassing for me every time, since my stories were ridiculously lousy. Either way its a GPA booster class.

She isn't very critical, but can be very insightful in regards to writing technique and style. Gives you a lot of freedom about what you are writing after the first few assignments. TAKE HER CLASS!
