I had Professor Carter this semester and I really liked her. She is a very sweet, nice and helpful woman. She is also very sassy which is funny. There is not much homework, except for some readings and one 5 page research paper. She helps you with the whole process and makes it clear. Quizzes in class after a reading. Attendance is kind of strict

Comment:

She can definitely be strict, boring, and annoying, but she lays out everything you need to do. Her class isn't hard, especially if you have written research papers before. She is annoying about dumb things like going to the bathroom during class and kind of treats it like a first-grade classroom, but if you don't mind that then you'll be ok.

She talks a lot and her attendance policy is pretty strict but overall it's a good class. As long as you show up and do your work you'll do fine. There's not much homework except for one 5 page research paper. The expectations are clear and she talks about how to cite sources and set the paper up a lot as well. Not an easy A but still a good class

She comes off a harsh, but is actually a very intellectual and smart woman. She sometimes gets lost in her own opinion but she will happily help anyone. Participate in class and you need the books. She has quizzes, midterm, and final. Also 5 page research paper but is very clear on what she wants. Overall good professor and would take again!

very boring to listen to. gives quizzes on the readings but tells us possible quiz questions the night before. open book midterm and final. one 5 page paper. she is kind of a strict grader but gives a few possibilities for extra credit and if you just talk to her she is understanding. overall not bad but not my fav

Lots of reading, quizzes before the start of each class. She only assigns one 5 page paper for the semester but she is very boring and talks more than necessary. She will also call people out if they are late, aren't paying attention, or just because. She was too strict for my liking and her attendance policy is ridiculous. Never taking her again.

She seems a little stoic and unapproachable in a class room setting, but during my private consultation I learned she is actually quite kind and helpful. Just make sure you do the assignments on time or she'll be mad. Exams aren't that hard if you pay attention to what she's trying to teach.

Comment:

Knows what she's talking about, but talks too much. Very little writing aside from one paper. Repeats unimportant details. Very friendly, very funny, and will definitely make you better at writing a research paper, and she'll make you a better arguer. half the time she sounds stoned and she plays favorites sometimes. very interesting experience.

How can anyone give her a bad review? She is EXTREMELY nice and VERY organized. If you follow the sylabus and LISTEN in class, you do fine. She is VERY understanding and is the most willing to help professor I've ever had. Her class was interesting and I learned a lot. Do what is expected and she'll do anything you need to help.

Comment:

Carter is a nice lady, but she speaks in monotone and is really drab, making the class very tiresome. She makes you think you'll have open discussions on reading and such the first few days; but soon, you'll see she just likes to hear herself speak for 50 minutes straight. Easy A. Plays favorites. Can be biased. Will talk for 50 minutes straight.

Really helpful, you only have one research paper (5 pages) due at the end of the semester which she helps you on throughout the semester. Make sure you don't miss more than 3 classes or you automatically fail. Good attendance will get you better grades.

Either she loves you or she hates you. If you do your work, she will be your best friend and be very helpful. But, miss one assignment and you are in some serious trouble. The material itself is very easy and not much work is assigned, but she is such a difficult grader. Personally, I don't think I would take her again.

Very structured class. Attendence is key. She really looks at the effort you put into the class. I worked my ass off, but only got a C, so she pulled me aside and thanked me for taking the effort and bumped me up to a B. She's definately worth taking.
