I had trepidations about taking this class but decided to try it as I was interested in the subject, at the beginning of the class--by the end I just wanted it to be over! I understand that she has health concerns, it happens; I do not understand, however, why we still do not have our final marks. Very nice lady, but I would not choose her again.

LOVELY, LOVELY, LOVELY and AMAZINGGGGG PROFESSOR! Love Flick! She's my hero! Teaching people grammar - she brings in cookies and coffee and she loves every one of her students even if they're mean and don't like her - she still loves them! I love this woman! She teaches a hard subject way better than any textbook can, I recommend going to class.

By the far the worst English teacher I've had at UBC. Amazingly boring, spends much of class reading to the students. Took over 7 weeks to hand back a midterm (even when she handed them back 4 peoples' essays were missing!). She is a nice women, but a horrid teacher.

She is hilarious! You can go see her during her office hour and have a nice long conversation with her! Her markings are easy for this course and is usually flexible. She will tell you where you did wrong and provides help as needed. A fun, loving old lady to be with. Yeah!

Class was very disorganized. Takes a very long time to return tests. Those things said, she explains things clearly and is always available in her office if you have trouble. Provides a ton of handouts and exercises. Class may not have been too exciting, but I learned a lot. Very sweet lady too.

Nobody can make a grammar class interesting like she does! Jane is in a league of her own. Not necessarily easy, and she marks soo slowly, but you can't help but love and forgive her. If you're into English and you're looking to LEARN, anything with her will be worth your time...I highly recommend.

She is such an amazing lecturer. I didn't think it was possible to be more interesting. She knew so much about literature and pointed out a lot of things that I had never thought about, but I really enjoyed the course because of her, and I got to read some of my fav childhood books. Awesome prof
