Although a hard marker, Jane was wonderful and very fair. She is always enthusiastic about course material and makes a genuine effort to get students engaged in class discussions. She also respects and rewards students who take the initiative to use office hours to their advantage and collect feedback from draft essays and assignments.

She's a first-rate professor who knows her stuff! She not only makes English lit. fascinating, but applicable and enjoyable! If you're up for a challenge and not afraid to engage your mind in some good critical thinking, I'd highly recommend any of her classes!

I found Jane to be very fair, a contentious effort, and attention to details provided good marks. If you want an easy course - don't take one of hers. She is very approachable, and provides direction and feedback, on all drafts before final papers are submitted. Jane makes her classes interesting and relevant to the course outline.

Jane Magrath is fantastic. She really makes you want to learn and read the material. She's funny, very approachable and will do everything to help you succeed. She really loves what she teaches, which will help you understand it. If you work hard, you will get an excellent mark.

Dr. Magrath is excellence personified. She has a tough but fair approach to marking, and her classes are always interesting, fun, and challenging. She continues to be the bar to which I measure all other professors. She is the English department's red fox. Every student at UPEI should experience a Magrath class. She is a GOD.
