I took Skafte's Drawing I class and 2D class too. She is laidback, likes to think outside the box, loves critiques, sometimes unclear but if you ask very helpful, projects are always unusual, and overall the class is an easy A or B, just do the work and you will definitely progress in your drawing.

Loved it! Gives an easy A or B on drawings to finish the class with an A. Studio time tends to drag, but get over it--it's a 2.5 hour class. The practice definitely improved my drawing. Confused? Ask questions-she'll explain it and gives decent suggestions. Taking her for another semester.

You guys are crazy. I learned so much in this class and got A's and B's on pretty much everything. The reason she is so monotoned could be because she smoked the reefer one too many times in the day...but you should definitely take her class!

She's very unclear, but just keep asking her what she means and she'll explain it better. Sounds like the other people on here are lazy... if you're seriously interested in art, this class is good: easy A and lots of practice with realism. 'Abstract' is just the easy way out.

gives assignments that eat up a ton time, forget having weekends. loves cut paper for the first couple of weeks. hovers around in class asking about your work. very unclear on assignments, get someone else if you can't, i'm glad i'm close to leaving.

Not awful but not great. Easy homework load and assignments, however, is extremely vague as to how they are supposed to be completed. Kinda boring, and ridiculous on the attendance policy. I'd take another professor if there is a better one offered.
