Avoid like Plague. I have never had a worse professor. Loved the material, but she and her teaching manner made me hate coming to class. There is no homework, just 4 essay exams and in class participation. Very hard grader.

This is one of the toughest classes I have taken. She is very smart and educated on the topic and the information is very entertaining. This is so lecture heavy and you cannot use your computer to take notes. Meeting with the professor does not help and she does not give much help outside of her lectures. Exams and hard and not curved.

Very tough grader. If a test question says according to the book you'd better remember what info came from the book and what came from the course pack and what came from lecture because you'll fail if you don't. She's passionate about the material, which is great to listen to, but for essays it's her way or no way.

Difficult class. High expectations - which would be fine except that the instruction doesn't support it. Basically leads class through "discussion" which consists of you regurgitating the textbook to her.

She may be a bit tough, but she is really a very nice professor. Do not be scared of her! She keeps class interesting and we always have a lot of fun talking about the material. She is a very tough grader, but she only wants you to do your best. Contrary to the rating below, on my first day of class she told us, 'No one will fail this course.'

While she loves what she does, she has no interest in her students. In fact on the first day she said "many of you will fail this course." I agree that she will go out of her way to make students feel bad. And she is an extremely difficult teacher.

She is a miserable **** of a professor. When it came time to do our 'confidential' class review, she stayed in the room and said, "Write what you will, I'm tenured." Eeek! She also liked to destroy my papers (I'm an English major, too) and wrote TRITE all over each page. Nice, eh? The material is interesting but she sucks.

I agree with the comment about calling people out. It made the class very uncomfortable. She did this on the second day and the class went from 25 students to 6 by the next class.

Worst professor I've ever had. She did everything in her power to make sure that the students in our class got bad grades. She only wanted her own version of history regurgitated on the exams. She picked on people in class and made them feel bad.
