Very old style of teaching, unrelatable. She will lecture with certain words and test using another word for the same name hoping you studied broadly enough to know certain systems have a few different words. Just to trick you. Horrible teacher. She is the head of the department and JC was just "awarded" with the highest fail rate of A&P in MI....

Surprised to see any good reviews on Jan. I would never take another class with her. Cannot believe she is still the head of biology when JC has the HIGHEST fail rate for A&P. Don't believe me? Do your own research.

Jan is extremely knowledgeable, but not the type of professor that makes you feel inadequate. Having taken an anatomy course before helped, but if you put in the work you will be rewarded. Her course pack goes directly along with the notes and slides she lectures from in class, making studying easier than most classes.

An amazing instructor. You can tell she is very passionate about teaching. She made A&P easier to understand than any other teacher I've had. Be prepared to work your butt off for a good grade and devote a lot of time for studying. She definitely gives you your money's worth!

I had to take this class twice. Once with another professor and once with Bradford. BY FAR the best BIO teacher at JC. I recommend her to anyone who has to take BIO 253254. The material is tough so you have to study, but studying 15 hrsweek left me with a 4.0 (probably because I took it twice) The 2nd time around is a lot easier!

Jan was a great instructor. It was her first time teaching this course but you would not have known it. She is extremely knowledgeable and knows her stuff. Easy grading in this class. She is very nice and makes the class interesting as well.

I wouldn't say she is easy due to the strict nature of the content in the course of anatomy and physiology but she is an amazing professor! Nicest person ever and great at answering questions. She's all that a great science professor should be, but don't take my her course as a joke. I placed roughly 40hrs a week into bio253 for a 4.0

Shes a great A&P prof. Goes through the lecture fast, esp at the end of the semester. A lot of people take recorders to class. Test are hard, you need to put a lot of time into the class, lab is fun, lab practicals are not hard if you learn in class. TAKE CLASS WITH A LIGHT LOAD OF OTHER CLASSES IF YOU MUST!
