Janice has made my experience at Mount Holyoke the fabulous time it has been. I had her twice and wish I could have her again. She is so clear in class, always available for extra help, and cares about each and every student. I've spent hours just sitting and talking with her because she's that engaging. Definitely take a course before she retires!

Professor Gifford is my favorite professor! I found her class challenging, and although I wasn't the only one, she always made time for us. She had office hours all the time and would stay late if a lot of people came. She even made the time if I had a non class related issue. I don't know how she does it!!

Janice is my absolute favorite! She is such an amazing prof! She knows the material well and can explain it to anyone. She also always makes time for students, whether they have homework questions or questions about courses. She is super approachable and truly wants everyone to do well. I love her!!

I hated this class. It was easy, but I did not like Gifford. The first half of the class was soooo boring and easy, but by the time we got to harder material, we had run out of time in the semester and were flying though it. In addition to that, she was rude.

I find Janice to be one of my favorite professors at MHC. When I was struggling with her class and had failed an exam she let me retake it and I did much better. I find her really approachable and always willing to help clarify any of the concepts. If you're a visual learner she's definitely the professor for you. I also took her stat 140 class.

She's rarely prepared for class and is disorganized and unclear. What is taught in class matches up poorly with homework questions and the textbook, which she requires each student to read. Most of class is spent on examples, while most of the homework is writing about statistics. If you don't know how to talk about stats, run. Otherwise helpful.

Great Professor! explains the stuff REALLY well and is willing to offer extra help. tests are quite easy but ONLY if you have gotten a good hold of the main concepts.can lose a lot of points for minor mistakes.

This class seemed pleasantly easy at first but watch out- she is a hard grader on tests, which comprise most of your grade.Even if you grasp the concepts well, tiny errors can bring your grade down by A LOT.As the class progressed I grew more and more confused.Homework assignments from the book were often unclear, tedious, and time-consuming.

Great professor! Having never taken a Stats course before, she definitely introduced it and taught the subject well. Helpful outside and during class, Gifford is super nice. Definitely recommended. (And the extra help sessions are always there if needed!!)

Janice is very nice, however, the homework could be a real drag. Half our class spent 3 hours twice a wk in the help sessions provided with only one TA doing our h/w, which for a lot of us required going to the sessions. It's intense and you cant really space it out like you could with reading.
