Ahh, the easy answers, there are none in Philosophy. People who don't enjoy Wirth's classes are lazy and want material spoonfed to them. If you want to work hard and work independently, he can be an excellent resource, but don't expect "help".

I'm so sad that he's gone now and that I can't continue to take philosophy classes with him. He's an amazing professor. He is clearly highly intelligent and his lectures are amazing, even if he does go on tangents at times.

Clearly brilliant but just as clearly a manchild. While he is not naive, exactly, there are realities he is unwilling to face- realities surrounding the power dynamic between professors and students. You can learn much from him if you want to, or you can be a sycophantic boob and still make an "A."

Comment:

Creative prof who appreciates creativity in his students. If you expect to be able to recite back lectures for a good grade, take someone else. This prof wants you to take the concepts learned and place them into new contexts. Very enjoyable classes.
