Jason is a very serious, very precise professor. I respect his knowledge of UX a lot. That said, it's not easy taking his classes. They are grueling. Grading is (in my opinion) too tough given the assignments and the way he tends to pick apart small grammatical errors, whitespace etc. If you're a strong writer, you may be OK here.

Excellent and clear communicator. He sets expectations on day 1 and as long as you pay attention and work hard youll do well and learn a lot.

Jason communicates clearly and elegantly, assigns meaningful work, and punctuates lectures with a dry sense of humor. He's friendly and caring; I went through a (literally) nightmarish class-related situation and he was extremely reassuring. Finally, tough grading is a GOOD thingit pushes you to try your hardest rather than settle for mediocrity.

Despite the dry lectures, it's clear that Jason is extremely knowledgeable about UX topics. He's a somewhat tough grader - I would have appreciated more input (on the grade sheet) as to why I was marked down for something on a project. Definitely take advantage of his office hours and ask questions if you don't understand something.

Important topics taught as boring and dry as possible. Doesn't make lectures available as PDFs, but rather prints lecture slides and wastes paper. Doesn't utilize Blackboard for assignments - requires assignments to be printed, even in his coding classes. Willing to help, but sometimes comes off as condescending while helping.

Professor Withrow does not suffer fools gladly, but is quite open and helpful for people sincerely seeking to learn. He covers an amazing amount of material and the projects are designed to keep teaching you more and more. Loved the class.

I can't stand him! He's very strict on what he grades. He doesn't grade on content, even though he preaches so hard about it; rather, he grades on appearance. WTF? What he teaches is good, but he doesn't grade fairly. I respect his knowledge, but he's not a fair grader. Don't take his class for fun; I only took it for credit requirements.

Jason's lectures can teach you a lot...if you can manage to stay awake. He is not a very engaging professor but he knows his stuff. However, he often grades papers based on visual presentation as opposed to actual content. Tough, but you'll learn a lot.

He's tough but fair; if you like coding, he'll make you a better coder. If you don't like coding, you'll be bored and find the classes extremely challenging. I've applied almost everything he's taught me in my job. I wish I had kept my lecture notes!! He's very nice, very approachable, and willing to spend a lot of time outside of class.

So i thought Jason was one of the best professors I've had in my college career (140 credit hours or so). He is extremely clear about not making changes to your homework after you turn it in so that reviewer got what they deserved. My only minor gripe about him is that, design wise, he does not like anything "out of the box".

Very strict about homework, even if you work on it for 2+ hours and make a small change afterward he'll completely void and null that assignment, giving you a dead zero. I do not appreciate is dumb sense of humor, nor his dry lessons. I do NOT recommend this instructor for any of your classes.

instructor does not even try to break it down so the students understands. He tends to complicate the subject matter then blames you when you do not understand the information. The general excuse is that it is a competitive field, when in reality he is just not a very good teacher

Jason teaches you by having you write papers. Then he corrects them and gives you a grade. No other feedback or additional learning takes place. You have one chance to demonstrate that you might understand the concept and then you receive a grade with no other instruction. This is not teaching but just writing english papers. Would not recommend!

Jason, knows his stuff. Class lectures are from powerpoint handouts that change very little over the years. Grades expect 45.7839? Your grade-"It depends?" Wont' commit to any answer on anything-neutral is the only way. His word choice may not be yours when writing a paper- to bad- he's decided. Write a paper an read corrections is how he teaches

Very good instructor, very through, so much so that the text book is more reference supplement for class material. You do have to study and watch the details, he is picky about staying with the specs on web projects and even if you know the material, you can still get low scores for not following the specs.

One of the nicest teachers you'll meet. He knows what he is doing. He does have high expectations so if you want your 'A' you'll have to earn it. Kind of a picky grader, but very fair. Will help you as much as you need. If your serious about learning web coding this is the teacher to take. I would recommend him to anyone, thats not lazy.

his coding 2 is for students with realworld experience coding. if you only have webcoding 1 as your previous experience, expect to be challenged, mystified, and a low grade. unpredictable grading system keeps everyone in the dark--grades low--but he packs a lot into the course. He's a B level teacher--knows coding but is still learning to teach

I've had Jason for like 6 INP Classes and have no complaints. Expect to work hard, you'll only have a problem with him if you're lazy. His jokes suck but laugh, at least he tries right? If he ever gives a perfect score on anything the world must be ending. You'll get a 9.869705345 out of 10 but never a 10 out of 10. But its only casue he cares
