Dr. Barth is a must take professor at Hendrix. Lectures are wonderful, and he is very engaging. A truly kind and caring person who gets to know you outside of class and really respects your point of view. Essays are challenging, but not impossible. Participation in class is a must.

Dr. Barth is not only my favorite professor of my college career thus far, but probably my favorite teacher I've ever had. The workload isn't light, but he's fair and reasonable. He appreciates diverse viewpoints in discussions. He cares about his students as individuals. I want to take as many classes with him as possible.

One of my favorite teachers on this campus. Super helpful in class, one of the most knowledgeable Politics teachers in the state (if not the most), and a great person to top it off. Requires you to work and think, but you will leave his classes knowing far more than when you came in and you'll enjoy it.

My favorite professor at Hendrix. Dr. Barth is a strong lecturer, he's very interested in his students, he gives good constructive feedback, and he's good at incorporating ongoing events into his teaching. Dr. Barth is a liberal person but a nonpartisan professor. His courses are refreshingly balanced. He does call on students to answer questions.

Incredible person, incredible professor. I learned so much from Dr. Barth. His lectures are top notch, and I never missed a single one. Expect to write a good amount, and be prepared to participate in class discussions.

Dr. Barth is one of the greatest professors ever! I am incredibly fortunate to have had him this year as a freshman. He expects a lot out of you, but he is always willing to help. Stop by his office (it's pretty rad) to say hello or ask for help on an assignment. Furthermore, he is always in a good mood. Can't beat that!

Dr. Barth is a fantastic person, and he really knows his stuff, but I had trouble following his lectures because of his lengthy sentences. Maybe that's due to my ADHD though. His tests always have essays, which I personally do not do well on. He's very approachable, so be sure to talk to him during office hours if you're confused about something.

No one should leave Hendrix without taking a class from Jay Barth. He's amazing...as a person and a professor. He will draw you into whatever subject he is teaching and engage your mind. He is tough, but it is worth it....and always read the material before class. He gets upset when you don't know it, but he is never mean. Wonderful man.

First, I rate him as easy becasue if you do all the work and the readings and take good notes, it will be easy. Next, Dr. Barth is the most gifted professor I've ever had. He truly loves what he does, knows exactly how to get the material across, and is so friendly and loves all of his students. He's a true scholar but a gifted educator - a rarity.

Jay is by far one of my biggest supporters at Hendrix. Every since I was a wee Fresher, he has really cared about my education and improvement. If it weren't for Jay, I would probably still be an average Hendrix student. He has gotten me interested, encouraged me, and has boosted my academic self-esteem. Jay is the best.
