He is intimidating and kind of arrogant. The class was more about him than the actual material he was supposed to be covering in class. He also curses a lot and brags about how he know famous people in the music industry blah blah blah. I would not recommend him to anybody. Very rude and unprofessional.

Horrible. Cursing through his lectures, very intimidating, doesnt grade fairly, brags about himself constantly. I changed my major due to the fact that I dont believe I can handle more classes with him. I know of other students who have done that as well. I thought part of being a teacher meant inspiring students, not discouraging them.

Very rude, Very disrespectful, Doesn't stay on topic and blames his student for lack of attentiveness, meanwhile he talks about how he and Quincy Jones when a crazy adventure, would recommend this teacher AT ALL. Although he is a great producer, he needs to work on his teaching methods, and learn how to humble himself. 350 characters isn't enough.

He does talk a lot about himself, seemingly brags about himself but seeing as how he DOES have tons of experience in the pop music industry i think he's earned the right to brag. He does go off topic a lot but somehow comes back to a nice conclusion. He has maybe 4 or 5 tests in total the whole semester, he's super nice but also very blunt

He might not be the best you'll ever have, but he'll definitely be the nearest reference for you to follow or not the path of music business. His stories might sound repetitive and self-centered, pay attention at them because in there are several live lessons that might help you on your own. To me, Jay is a mentor and the coolest common sense prof.

Jay goes into depth of the music business and how the whole industry plays out and is. The textbooks in this class also provide deep insight and follow what Jay teaches (which is a lot). You will not regret this class. I'm a theater major who took this class as an elective and found it extremely insightful. You will not be disappointed.

350 Characters is not enough to describe everything that is wrong with this professor and his program. Exaggerates his minimal involvement in hit records from the 80s and never stops talking about the time he ALMOST won 2 grammys. Puts you down for asking questions even though he says wont. The facility is amazing but goes entirely to waste.

Awesome professor! He is really knowledgeable, he has been around many artists and top A producers for many years, inspirational. Long lectures for the first half of the semester. The recording studio is unbelievably awesome. 2 easy quizzes, 1 midterm and a final. Have to do a couple of recording projects on Reason and Logic. Don't be late to class

Hes an amazing teacher who will inspire you to strive and become sucessful. Really knows his stuff. Do not get discourage if he yells at you. Its his New York mentality. He's a pretty cool guy. Im sure you could learn some cool things if you ask a lot of questions, however dont expect to get an A in the class. Maybe a "B" if you try hard. He doesnt have to many assignments, so you dont know where you stand until the end of the semester. Not a bad teacher, but not the best.
