Professor Parini is an excellent and generous mentor. He has read seemingly everything, but has also written both fiction and nonfictionand done so successfully. His lectures are entertaining and instructive. They're worth sitting in on for the endlessly amusing stories about the authors that Parini tells, in many of which he's a participant.
