His assignments take a ridiculously long amount of time to complete. All of the notes have to be memorized word for word otherwise you are guaranteed to fail your exams. Nevertheless, his lectures are interesting, and his notes are well prepared. This would be an excellent class to take if you could take just one class and work on it fulltime.

Very smart and he knows it. He doesn't like for people to do well in his class and he takes forever to mark assignments. For example, the midterm came back right before the final exam. Sometimes assignments don't come back until after the exam. He needs to spend more time marking

I did not enjoy this class at all. Forget about understanding concepts, if you can't spew back definitions word for word, you won't succeed. He seems to think that you only understand something if you've memorized the definitions. Not everyone has the same learning style. He can also be downright rude at times.

You will learn from him. You will also get plenty of thesis ideas, regardless of whether you're doing a thesis or not. His tests cover a broad overview of the covered topics. His midterm was a good 2 hour test. (Unfortunately, we only had an hour and a half in which to write it.) He takes forever and a day to mark tests, assignments, etc.

He teaches his courses as if everyone were headed for graduate school. He covers a LOT of material in too much detail. His email response times are 3-4 days, and most replies to questions will be snide remarks that he mentioned it in a previous lecture... he's not helpful. The worst professor I've had at AUC.
