Was waitlisted for this class for a couples of months before the semester started. I am beyond glad I got in. Professor Silverman is the best English teacher I have ever had. I have never had a teacher that put the amount of effort he did into making sure the students really learn. I can write such better essays now thanks to him! He is AWESOME!!

He is a great professor. Great group discussions and very easy going. You don't have to understand everything. Intellect isn't the deciding factor. Try your best, ask questions, do the reading, and participate in class. If you don't understand something, all you need to do is ask. I have nothing but respect for this man.

Jay Silverman Is Wonderful Professor , you get quizes based on the reading assignment and toward the end have to write and essay in the class eng 102 we had to write a total of 4 essay 2 in class 2 outside.

Easy A if you do all 5 essays which are done at home. 1-2 question in classe quizzes based on assigned readings. Grades based on those 2 things. He critiques heavily and comma happy. Extremely nice and understanding. Interesting class. Would take him again and many are repeat students. 2 paperback books and short writings were the readings.

He's such an amazing sweet teacher. He's really funny and totally clear about what he wants. Very helpful, always willing to let you revise your essays. Essays are not hard at all. A majority of them are about yourself, and 3 about readings done in class and at home. Attendance is mandatory, but you'll really enjoy time spent in his class.

Professor Silverman is one of the kindest and coolest professors I've had. He's someone that's easy to talk to. He's nice and tries to accomodate you. He takes in late work. And barely takes off points for late work. Be nice and respectful. I recommend him for Eng 101 and Eng 102

What an amazing professor! I am currently taking him for 101 and I absolutely love him! He is helpful and very straight forward. He gives out 7 essays & just a few short readings throughout the semester. He also gives one question quizzes after each reading but they barely count towards your grade. Do all 7 essays & get an easy A! FAV PROFESSOR!

Hey is an excellent professor. He is very helpful and gives a reasonable amount of writing. In this class we didn't have to worry about essay format but more about expressing what we thought about the reading. He gave us one writing assignment per week. It could be as long as you want. Take his class!!

BEST PROFESSOR I'VE EVE HAD! His class was really easy and simple! There are 7 essays and two are in class. He let's you bring your laptop for in class essays and he is the fairest grader. His class is very easy. Just keep up with the weekly writings. He isn't very helpful because the writings are opinion based. He doesn't let you talk or text. And he makes rude remarks when you text, sleep, talk, or even his comments about something you have written.

I have him for masterworks of literature 2, which is an honors class. He is one of the best teachers I have ever had. His teaching style is very different than most, but in a good way. There is more classroom discussion than lecture. If you have the opportunity to take his class, don't pass on it! (Especially if you like to read!)

What a gentleman! He is so nice and so helpful. Makes readings fun and interesting. Fair grader, and you learn a lot from him. Mentions his wife (who has past) often. I think he misses her, and it makes you want to give him a huge hug! Wonderful, amazing, the best english professor! Can't wait to take him for the honors class in Fall!

Very easy. Easy A. Missed 5 classes, allowed 7. Only 7 essays but you have weeks to do each of them. He is very helpful. Allowed revisions for high grades. Quizzes don't count for anything and he tells you the questions beforehand. Best teacher! Recommend Recommend!
