If you are interested in supply chain, and want to actually learn something take another professor!! Only take if you don't care about learning the material. He only teaches articles but you will not be tested on them, and will need teach yourself whats on the test. Even if you read articles you will fail them so don't bother to study.

Dr. J is the worst professor I have ever had. His 487 class is based off of articles that are long, dry and hard to understand. Even if you read the articles twice and take notes, you'll still probably fail the quizzes because the questions he asks are completely random. Smart man, horrible prof. Group project is very ambiguous but he graded easily

One of the worst supply chain professors. Completely erratic and lessons make little to no sense. He penalizes you for missing class for a job interview/BUSINESS EXPO. His quizzes count for 30% of the grade and be prepared to fail a good amount due to his unclear questions. No matter how much you study, you can fail because of his randomness.

Jay is a nice guy but he's kinda all over the place. Articles are how he teaches the class some are nice but mostly dry. Quizzes over cases and articles were surprisingly difficult in some instances. Group presentation isn't too bad. Jay can be kind of rambly in his lectures. Very smart though and knowledgeable about India sourcing.

He has a very thick accent that makes it very hard to follow his lectures. He is very knowledgeable, but very difficult to understand and his lectures are nothing like the tests.

Professor Jay is a nice guy, but for your own sake choose a different teacher. Majority of class was powerpoints full of everything you DON'T need to know for the test. He passes out a problem and wants you to do it quietly while he walks around to answers students individually. What a super ineffective and inefficient way to teach a class of 40+.

Excellent professor with a lot of knowledge. The course content can be a little dry at times, but he does his best to keep the class moving. Most interesting when you can get him to talk about India.

Dr. Jayaram is one of my favorite professors in the Moore School. Case discussions are fun and interesting, the exams are not too hard, and he really wants his students to learn the material. He can be very funny sometimes, too.

Pretty easy class. Definitely read the cases, articles can be dry, but he reviews them in class. He also allows you a page front and back of notes for each exam. One case extension project and one group project. Easy grader. Takes attendance, participation not required. You can learn a lot if you do the readings and pay attention.

Class is all right. Articles are too scholarly. Does not grade too strictly. You get out what you put in, in 487

Nice guy but this class is hard! He warns you in advance & he's serious. Read the chapters! Helps with the material in class. Tests are very tricky. Ask questions before exam day b/c he doesn't show up for them. Do hw & take quizzes, you'll need all the points you can get. He means well but his class is a challenge. Good luck!

Wow, what an awful prof. Everyone else pretty much summed it up. Reads off the slides, you can't understand him and he's impatient with questions. I don't understand how this man has a job b/c he certainly doesn't teach. Doesn't even come to test days and sends his assistants instead who can't speak English or answer any questions. Awful professor.

Dr. Jay tells sourcing related stories with a high level of energy and interest, and is clearly well versed in supply chain management. With these positive attributes in his favor, he simply does not convey the information to students that is needed to do well on the assignments. There are many intelligent students doing poorly because of format.

This guy likes to hear himself talk about nothing, then test you on specific details that he won't cover in class. His teaching methodologies are beyond reason. I am scared for any business students that get him for mgsc 395.

I'm not really hard on professors, but I really hate this class. It is my least favorite since I've been at USC, and I'm a senior. It makes me want to take my own life. Jayaram needs to work for a company, not a university. Do not take him, he's horrible.
