During your first class with him you will empathize and love him, given his enthusiasm for it. As you start taking his quizzes you will feel somehow bamboozled, as he makes things harder than they actually are. Also, he takes great pleasure in telling you "the math is beautiful, but that's not the answer", even if you are right. Run away.

Definitely a smart guy and he obviously knows the course stone cold but occasionally goes off about cool statistical concepts that aren't really relevant. Can probably get away with not doing the homework as long as you show up for class, he teaches the material well.

Approachable and friendly. deep knowledge about the course. A good communicator, very effective in relaying knowledge and information. A good sense of humor which made statistics fun and interesting. Talks little bit fast sometimes though. But overall experience with him is superb. I strongly recommend to take his class.

JP is A great teacher. The man LOVES stats, and does a very good job of explaining things. It's no secret that stats isn't the easiest or the most fun, but I didn't dread it each day like I expected. It seems as though he is a bit harder of a marker than other stats teachers at RR, but I'm pretty sure it's just because he knows the material better.
