Jeanne was great! Her lectures are very informative, you can tell she is very passionate about the subject matter. Her assignments are fair and the readings aren't extensive. As long as you've done the readings and have been to class you can pass the exams with a high grade no problem. I would definitely recommend this course!

Jeanne is an overall great person, she's super friendly and very passionate about geography and environmental issues. However... she is disorganized and confusing. Don't expect her to answer your email, she won't. Don't expect to know what is going on in the class, because you'll never know. You could skip 4 classes and come back and be fine.

For starters, Jeanne was not the original professor for this class. She only took over because the other professor, Cam, got sick. With one month left of classes we had plenty of assignments to do. However, Jeanne was understanding when it came to our stress about the course and she did what she could to accommodate. Fairly easy marker, too.

Doesn't cover any of the material in detail in her lectures that she then expects one to know on the exams. She goes on about general concepts in class with group discussions et al, and she is extremely disorganized. She lost my paper, didn't have an answer as to why her 1.5% per participation forum didn't add up the 10% overall mark, etc. Terrible

I really regret taking this class. Jeanne provides very little to no personal feedback not to mention she offers hardly any guidances as to what she expects in the first place. If you take her classes, prepare to teach yourself.

Jeanne is hard to understand. She seems very scatter-brained and her notes are messy. Also, it is hard to know exactly what she wants from you for an assignment becasue she does not clearly state it.

this class and teacher is a joke. me and other students spent hours studying together knowing EVERYTHING in the textbook and notes to find that NOTHING on the exam was from either. we had no assignments or anything through the term so i dont understand. she's a ridiculous marker and horrible teacher. AVOID HER... you will regret. boring too

For a mixed mode class, it sure takes her forever to respond to a question. also for a first year course, it seems alot harder than it really has to be.

Her assignments are straight forward and make you engage with the material. I found the online multiple choice midterm difficult, especially considering it was open book. Make sure you read the textbook and you'll do fine.

Very nice person, but her classes were pretty boring and not very useful. The textbook needs to be changed, as it is boring and very out of date.

JM is a reasonable prof. Sadly the locally written text was not inspiring (another prof) but other resources made available. If you have difficulty she'll help and wants to see you pass. Tests are NOT hard. She doesn't spoon feed!Read before class, be prepared to do your bit. At times eqpt wasn't working in class - not her fault but distracting.

I cannot believe the number of students who believe this teacher does not do her job.Useless if always referring students to outside sources but cannot impart knowledge herself. Very disorganized-a teacher should not be this way. Will the administration ever look into complaints from so many students?

the textbook is useless and repugnant. her lectures do not clarify anything but rather confuse you further. shes very disorganized and gives very little guidance. she sets unrealistic expectations for students. she has a heart of gold but poor teaching skills.

Jeannie is sweet. She needs to seriously change the textbook she uses in this class though. It is sooooo boring. I was a big fan of Geography, but I found this class to be rather uninteresting. There is a lot of reading to do, and I honestly don't know how much information I actually retained.

She is the worst teacher I have ever been taught by. Her midterms does not revolve around major incidents or terminology but statements she makes in class for a couple of seconds. Her notes are all over the place, and she leaves you connecting the dots, there is so much work to do in this class that it's not worth taking for a first year course.

She didn't explain what to do. I didn't know about assignment or how important they were. The midterm was all little details from our notes. She is a really hard marker. Not a fun class to be in for 3 hours.
