Comment:

Professor Smith scared me at first. She was old, came off strong, teaches things "her" way, and only grades the entire class off of 3 exams (100 points each). Homework is not graded, therefore it is not required but highly advised. She collects HW every class and if you complete it all she will bump up your grade if your on the edge.

Comment:

She's a nice old lady. She gives quizzes almost everyday but they do not count towards your grade. They give you an idea of what's going to be on the test. There are 3 tests. Homework is not required but if you do it and you're at an 89% she will bump your grade up. No phones allowed.

Comment:

Hard class but only because of difficult material. She encourages questions. Only gives 3 tests. Quizzes don't count but are exactly what's on the test, study & hang on to them. Homework is optional and I passed without it but you'll do much better if you do it and practice. Do 50% or more of it and she'll bump up your grade if you're on the edge.

Comment:

Go to IVC. Instructor makes students feel like idiots for asking questions. Her homework does not correlate with her lessons, so why teach out of the book? No calculator allowed, so there's a red flag. Someone even contacted the dean to complain on her lack of teaching skills. She might as well write her own notes and sell them like other teachers.

Professor Smith is an experienced professor. Took her for both math 8 and 11 and got A's in both. The hw she assigns is long is long, but is good practice. The quizzes matches the hw and the exams matches the quizzes. If you don't do well on a quiz, she goes over it in great detail.

She expects you to be able to get two lengthy homework assignments done between each class. If don't ask questions on the homework she gets upset. The grade is only based on three exams, and she doesn't give much partial credit. Either you're completely right or completely wrong. Bad test takers, steer clear.

The entire class is based off only 3 tests but if you do all your hw, she will bump your grade up. She is not the nicest person when lecturing. She expects you to actually pay attention otherwise she is not willing to help you if you start to ask stupid questions. Attendance matters! She will drop you if you keep skipping!!

Definitely do not recommend this professor. I'm sure she's great if you already know the material, but she teaches too fast. I didn't even bother asking questions because she would repeat the same thing just as fast, or essentially make fun of you for asking

Professor Smith is overall a good teacher. I ended up with a B+ in the class, getting a B on the first exam, A on the second, and a B+ for the third. BOTTOM LINE: As long as you KNOW AND UNDERSTAND EVERY QUIZ PROBLEM, pay attention to her lectures, and take good notes, you are guaranteed an A or a B. Notice how I emphasized THE QUIZZES.

Professor Smith is the best professor Ive ever had. I took her Math 8, Math 11, and Math 124 classes, getting As in them all. Homework isnt required, but crucial for success. The entire class is based on three test scores, but the class quizzes help you know EXACTLY what to expect on them so theres no surprises come test day.

Professor Smith may have a hard exterior but wow she can teach. Her style may be hard for some but I have never learned so much math before. This way my second attempt at statistics and I was able to really grasp everything!

I have to say, Prof. Smith is probably one of the best Math teachers I've had. Yes, she can be stern and and impatient at times but it is only because she wants you to work hard and treats you like an adult which you should be acting as. If you are an easily offended millenial, this is not the class for you. She will push you to get better at math.

Smith is a good teacher, and her tests are pretty mellow. If you do your homework and know what your doing, you'll get easy A's on the exams, as they are very similar to what you encounter in the homework. However, DO NOT MAKE HER REPEAT HERSELF. She is very easily frustrated, so show respect, work hard, and you'll be fine.

I wanna begin by saying that I have a 3.5 GPA in school, so this comment has nothing to do with not being a good student: homework is not mandatory, she doesn't care about students, rude, doesn't let u ask questions and if u do she will ridicule you, never answers her emails, i couldn't ask my peers for help because she does not allow talking

Even though this professor is tough and hard on you, if you put your mind to it and ignore some of her rude comments it's an easy class to pass. Many people get hung up on her hard class style or the fact that you actually need to go to class. She tells you exactly how she wants her tests and if you do it you'll get 99% on your tests.

1)Do all homework, it's hard to keep up, don't worry, just get it in by the deadline 2)Show up every time, EARLY (if you miss, do everything you can to respectfully ask for support) 3)Keep the quizzes and do them over and over. They are similar to the tests 4)Go to the tutoring center- she's harsh and she moves fast, you'll need help. It works.

The issue that I had with this professor was that she did not teach. She showed you the material and would be annoyed by the next class session because you did not have it memorized. Grade was based off of 3 exams. Not very personable and quite rude.

Don't even bother. Your grade is based off of 3 exams. She makes fun of you if you ask a "stupid" question. Also, she dropped me from the class because I had to attend a job training and couldn't be in class for two days, even though I communicated to her that I really needed the job.

The whole class is based off of just the four tests. The homework and quizes don't count for a grade. She is very rude and unapproachable and goes way too fast on her lectures. If a student asks a question, she will act like the student is stupid for asking the question.
