Lectures are unorganized. You have to memorize a LOT of numbers for tests (like over 100 throughout the course). However, you know exactly what to study. He gives 60 questions to you puts 30 of them on the midterms. Short answers are reviewed in class. 6 easy quizzes on vocab and maps. Ok class for a GE. Dr. Durrant tries to keep it interesting.

Professor Durrant is fantastic! The class is very clear and relatively easy for a GE class. Very funny and entertaining as well. Grade is based on one essay, six quizzes, and 3 tests. With a little effort, it's an easy A.

There were 6 easy quizzes, one of which was dropped, 2 easy assignments, and 3 tests, which he basically gives you all the answers to ahead of time. The lectures were sometimes boring and we jumped around to a lot of different topics, but overall it was a fairly interesting class.

This class is a doable A. There are 6 short quizzes that are easy and two small assignments. Besides the final, there are two other tests. Professor Durrant gives you multiple choice questions prior to the test, and then he chooses some from the questions he gave you. He also pretty much gives the answers for the short answer portion in class.

Super easy class for a GE. He was really funny and made lectures interesting (given the inherently dull topics). Great teacher. Reviews everything that will be on the test. No ambiguity in the class. You know all your assignments at the beginning of the semester and they are all really easy. Good class.

He's a really good teacher, he's not too intense or serious but he always explains the material really well. His lectures are entertaining and helpful at the same time. He's very clear about whats going to be on the test, making studying a lot easier.

I found this class interesting. The class was extremely easy. There are 8 quizzes that are basic and can be aced with 30 minutes of study beforehand. The midterms are easy also. He gives you the multiple choice questions and gives you a great idea of what the short answer will be. After that you just need to study. I would take from him again.

This class is everything you want in a GE: minimal work, you're told exactly what you need to know for the quizzes/exams, and Dr. Durrant is hilarious. The readings can be done just before the test (readings help answer the test study guide questions), meaning basically no H.W. I found myself always looking forward to class and laughing often.

He is awesome and his class was great! He gives you ALL the test questions ahead of time. Find the answers yourself- DON'T trust the class google doc that everyone uses. Its tempting but not worth it because when people answer wrong, you study it wrong. Sometimes his lectures are not the most engaging but even so, it is SUPER easy to get an A.

I took this class last semester for a general credit, and I really enjoyed it. He is clear about all of the details that he will test on, and there is not a huge work load. He gives you too much information for sections of the tests and quizzes, but if you just study all of it, you will be fine. I would highly suggest taking this class today!

A lot of people criticize Prof. Durrant for lecturing about random things, which is true to some extent. I really enjoy his class, though, because he cares about our personal experiences with geography rather than just the material. He tries to get students to care about a topic they might not have cared about otherwise, which I think is awesome.

Durrant Chad, Africa, & motorcycles. He lacked structure at the beginning, but by midterm, I knew exactly what was going on. I loved this class because he kept it light & always ended early. His lectures, neither boring or riveting, and readings are essential for tests. Visit him w/questions in his office & you're golden (he's a pushover)

Dr. Durrant is a nice guy, but an awful lecturer. He's sporadic in lectures, and you don't go over anything read in the book. The tests are very difficult, and study guides aren't provided. Will have a "detailed" review telling you how many questions will be on what, but with the vast amount of reading, it's still hard to know what to expect.

Dr. Durrant is by far the best professor I have had at BYU. He is hilarious and really makes the class material interesting. He is super laid back and easy going. We didn't have any tests but instead had a quiz every couple of weeks, There is also a few assignments based on our readings.. we had no final, instead we did a big video project . :)

I'll never forget the day I walked into class and saw on the board "Is an orangutan good for your garden?" Needless to say, this class has been insightful and fun, and although I wasn't very interested in the material in general, this professor made it worth going to.

I loved professor Durrant! He was super helpful and was always willing to work with you and help you out. The readings were kind of a pain but he gave you major hints for the tests and all of his assignments and tests were fairly easy. I highly recommend him!
