Jeff is a really great professor and a caring guy. His lectures are great, and he makes it more of a guided discussion at times. He connects really well with people and is always willing to make the time to meet with you. He cares about your growth, gives meaningful feedback and hands back papers and tests very promptly. Grading is tough but fair.

Jeff is super animated and entertaining. He is incredibly knowledgeable and makes the content easy to understand. I have never taken a US History class before but it was easy to engage in class. Attendance is a must as tests are based mostly on lecture. He grades on how well you critically think about the material and details and evidence are key

I really liked this teacher! I thought I did well on my first test and got a C+. I went and talked to him on how I could do better and he gave me great tips and advise! I did better and better on each test and got A's and B's on his exams after that. The last exam I got 100%!

Best History teacher I have ever had. Very interesting lectures and teaches with strong passion, and it is easy to tell. He also makes the subject easy and fun to understand, just make sure you pay attention and study before tests and you will be fine.

Grades on how specific you answer the test questions. Not graded on whether you are right or not but the amount of detail you put in your answers which isn't fair at all. The test are completely essay questions. No multiple choice or fill in the blank at all.

Jeff talks pretty fast, but he gets straight to the point. The big tests are based on questions that you will have answer in 3 essays. This class was fun with him & he meets with students after class. Wouldn't take this class with any other professor

Mr. Janowick is a very hard grader. There are weekly discussions and three papers due over the course of the semester, and he grades hard on them. The final exam is not too challenging. An interesting class, you just have to be very detailed with your writing.

He's a history dork, and it shows in his teaching. His lectures are fairly clear, but reading up on the subjects will help because all of his tests are short answer/essay, so you really need to understand the material to explain it well in your answers.

Jeff loves history and, while doing an exemplary job of distancing himself from current politics, explains, compares, contrasts and discusses American history in a way that it can be understood today by history buffs and normal students alike.

Don't take this class if you don't like studying outside of class especially reading or writing because your tests will be essay responsive questions and you must read the material as well. If you are expecting to get an easy A this is the wrong professor because he grades tough, in my class nobody got a 4.0 on anything.

Very complex class but super interesting. His quizzes are very tricky and I feel he does this purpose. It is very hard to choose the correct answer on the test. I feel that he does this intentionally. Beware of that.

Awesome guy. Very fun class environment. As a history instructor though I believe their politics should stay out of the classroom, this guy is rather liberal. But Awesome none-the-less.

The worst professor I have ever had. Incredibly long-winded boring lectures. His quizzes are a joke impossible to distinguish the corect answer. His tests are all essay and must be at least 5 pages to get full credit. I did not know I signed up for a writing class. Did all the homework, studied, didnt miss a class still a B- ruined my 3.9GPA AWFUL

Jeff is a great professor; he knows his facts. His lectures are very important, so class attendance and participation are essential to doing well. Talk to him during his office hours if you have questions. This class ISN'T a blow off, you are required to THINK and make arguments. I enjoyed his class a lot and recommend it if you like history! :D

This is not a slacker class! You have to read the textbook because he only goes over the main points in class. You really have to pay attention and take detailed notes. His lectures are boring half the time. The exams are pretty hard but you get a cheat sheet. He's a nice guy though and he really likes what he's teaching so I'll give him that.

Long winded and repetitive lectures. His Quizzes were annoyingly tricky with many right answers but only gives credit for the answer he likes best... ridiculous!

A lot of reading outside of class, expected VERY detailed exam, term paper, and analysis of situation. Gets excited about material and makes class okay for a history class. Great professor if you're a history major, not so much for a cultural enrichment class.
