Not too often a guy can be difficult and still warrant a 5/5... but Kenney is not the every day professor. Take a course!

He really cares about you. Wants you to do well. Lectures long in class and cracks a joke. Passionate about material and inspires you to be interested as well. Definitely take him if you're even a little interested in the topic matter. Relates stuff well to the real world.

Dr. Kenney makes class fun and interesting. He is absolutely brilliant. He really pushes you to do your best work, but he is always there for his students and will help with anything, even if it doesn't relate to his class.

I took two course with Jeff Kenney - Religion and Violence, and Islam and the West. (Can you believe those course titles - amazing!) Professor Kenney chooses fascinating readings and he guides the class to explore topics in great depth. I am now in graduate school and still find none of my professors or courses measure up.

He gives some of the most hilarious, fascinating, and insightful lectures I've ever been to, and pushes his students to really critically think about the material. His intro classes aren't too difficult, and his advanced classes are really fun, although the big essay topics can be challenging. However, the work is very reasonable.

Kenny is easily my favorite professor at DePauw. He's brilliant and hilarious. I was weary before taking his class, but the second I sat down on the first day I knew I would never miss a class. He has a great sense of humor, and is more than willing to help you if you need it. Cares a ton about his students. Going on his WT I like him so much.

The best prof I have had so far. Very laid back. Really cares about students and will go out of his way to help them. Class material can be hard to understand, but he will always take time to explain it. Not really a tough grader.

Professor Kenney is a great asset at DePauw. I was fortunate enough to have two of his classes and would love to take more. He was tough and very rewarding. I didn't appreciate him enough during undergrad, but I have really come to appreciate what I learned from him in my graduate studies. Don't be intimidated! Take him. It's well worth it!

Possibly the smartest professor here at DePauw. Amazing knowledge and makes the class worth coming to at 8 in the morning in the winter. Funny and has many wise cracks. He's the type of professor that makes you want to learn. Although it is challenging for an Intro course .. if you know the material and comprehend it you'll get an A.
