This class is very easy... If you actually show up. His slides don't make sense without him filling in the blanks, and he doesn't use a textbook. He grades based on weekly quizzes, a midterm, and a final. Workload is very light and he seems passionate about the topic.

Not sure whats with the people hating on Jeff. He was a hilarious prof and I looked forward going to class. Really not a hard course at all, he did a good job at explaining the material, and if you actually listen in class it's not hard to pass at all. I only studied the day before the midterm/final and got a B. Easy course with a great prof.

Jeff is the best prof Ive ever had. Hes hilarious, explains the subject material well, and uses all of his own content as opposed to the textbook slides. Quizzes are very easy and worth 30%, Midterm took 15 minutes. Very easy fun elective.

Jeff is a great prof and one of the best I've had so far. His exams are very fair and are all based off of his notes and what he talks about in class. No text book needed. 30% is based on quizzes(your best 5 out of 10 are counted), 25% midterm, and 45% final which was non cumulative. Show up to class, study the notes and it's an easy A+.

Jeff is a great and funny guy. His lectures can be boring and dry but that is due to the course material. The lab material is important to this course, it may seem like it's over your head most of the time but ask Jeff for help he's usually available in his office during the day. He may make you work for it but it's for your benefit.

30% of grade are the quizzes, which are 4 mult choice every Wednesday. 25% midterm, 45% final. For all of these, you have to write down everything he says. He tests on the tiniest things. Have to work for an A, and work even harder for an A+. I got 48/50 on midterm, 30/30 on quizzes, and still only got an A. Final was a LOW BLOW. Absolutely unfair

Amazing prof! I genuinely liked going to class! He has 10 quizzes and takes the BEST 5 (worth 30% of your grade), 1 midterm and a final. The midterm is relatively easy and the final is tougher. Overall, great prof and would recommend taking this class with him!

funny and nice guy but he is not the prof for you if you aren't a science major, he generally speaks about concepts as if you should already know them, which you probably do if you're a science major but for the rest of us: i had to do a lot of my own research to piece together the concepts he half explained.

Interesting class. The evaluations for the class was good, quizzes guarantee you at least 80% which was worth 30% of the total grade. This professor explained the PowerPoint slides pretty well, goes too fast sometimes. I barely opened the textbook, so there is no need for it. He posts slides online which is helpful. Funny guy!

Overall, Jeff is a funny and nice guy! However, his lectures are kind of all over the place and he asks really random questions on the final.

He's a good prof overall, but when he doesn't get laughs for his jokes, he digs deeper and wastes time. Midterm was hard. Go to class. So scared for final tomorrow.

Jeffs a really good guy. He's more than willing to help however he doesn't just hand out answers you have to work for it. He'll push ya in the right direction for solving assigned lab problems. Respect him and show him your interested, TURN YOUR CELLPHONES OFF DURING LABS AND CLASS he finds it very disrespectful. The finals are very difficult.

The class itself is really hard, if you're struggling with the lab assignments go see Jeff for help. He is more than willing to help if you're lost. As for the lecture assignments can be very dry at times but are important.

Decently interesting lectures. Quizzes pretty much give you 30% guaranteed. Midterm and final have some surprise questions, but aren't overly difficult. If you study, you should be able to get an A.

He posts his notes online which is good, but they are very short so you should take notes in class when he elaborates on them. Assignments are worth more than the midterm and they are best 510. He also grades "on a curve" which benefits the class. As long as you know your facts, you will get an A+ or A. He is a hilarious prof, and a good prof too!

Very funny, keeps class interesting. He really knows his stuff and tries to make it as simple as possible, but kind of glazes over stuff sometimes. If you want a geology degree look for this guy, he's a really great prof.
