Doesn't teach anything, just expects you to know the math. Weird syllabus. Not helpful at all, and doesn't actually tell you how to do things. This class wouldn't be difficult if he actually taught you half the things he expects you to know for the tests.

I absolutely loved this professor. I failed his class once but that was totally my fault and next semester I knew that I want to get in his class again because he is the only professor who could make me understand math and he helped me to do so. Just honestly the best math professor Ive ever had.

Ill start saying that math was the worst subject for me, hes the only professor that made me LIKE it. He would explain it to me in the class, on office hours, he even made a lecture for only one person when I missed the class. He finds special way for every student, you just have to show him that youre interested in subject.

I will preface this by saying that math is not my favorite subject and I was nervous about college math. Professor Hakim is the worst professor for someone who does not like math to take. He believes in "learning the bigger picture" and is not a fan of formulas; which makes it hard when you don't know the fundamentals. Take another professor!!!!

Straight up he sucks. We need to show up to class but we do absolutely nothing, he is so monotone and makes you feel horrible if you get the question wrong. He thinks he is so much better than every other professor when undoubtably he doesn't even teach! He thinks his method is so much better when we teach ourselves and he does not know anything.

DO NOT buy the textbook, there is an online version that comes with the purchase of subscription. The hw takes about 4 hours long if you want to get an 100%. I had to teach myself everything in this class, because when I emailed him, he told me that "his way of teaching is the best way." Yeah, that's why we all have tutors and have learned nothing.

Jeffrey Hakim is the WORST professor I have ever had. I have honestly never been in a course where every single class period was so unproductive. He says he believes in "inquiry based learning" yet executes that teaching method poorly. I DO NOT recommend taking his class, even as a last resort just take it with a different professor next semester.

If you can avoid this professor and aren't the best at math, please do! The ratings are really this low for a reason. Rarely have I ever been in a class where the professor refused to teach material related to the homework for the first month of class. Avoid at all costs, you'll thank yourself later!

Professor Hakim tries his best but... He says things like "I want you to feel the math" and he refuses to give out formulas because he's too concerned with us understanding the history behind it. If you aren't good at math don't take him, I should've read these reviews before, I'm only surviving because of old high school precal notes.

He poorly uses the flipped classroom technique, but in class, when anyone has a question he barely answers them and makes awful jokes. He continuously tries to push that he wants us to understand the math rather than just memorizing the equation which is great, but it doesn't work because he just simply doesn't know how to explain math.

He really does not understand how to explain the material to students. The only reason I am doing well is because I'm reviewing notes that I took back in high school, not his class. I DO NOT recommend him to anyone who has difficulty understanding math or to those who love math.

The class itself isn't hard (I mean, it's the easiest Math class you can take) but he'll spend a lot of time trying to make you "feel the math". Just keep quiet, do the extra credit videos and finish all your homework ahead of time.

He won't teach you anything but will bribe you with extra credit so you don't complain much. He clearly thinks he's oh-so-much-better than anyone on earth, but the reality is his teaching abilities were comparable to those of the walls of the classroom. They also have the same level of aptness for social human interaction.

Yes, Hakim can be confusing and yes, there are a lot of online assignments BUT he is so good about extra credit. If you ask him for extra credit, he will come up with some assignment for you. It's kind of stupid that we have to go to class since we just talk about our online homework, but you can make up absences with the extra credit.

Possibly the worst teacher I have ever had for any subject EVER in my entire life. Nice guy. Most likely cares about his students. However, his obsession with the "concepts" and his online software, makes the class hard and grueling. If you ever want to be passive aggressively attacked for your rounding issues, take this class!

Monotone voice, explains concepts in such an obscure way. He's extremely smart but can't dumb down his methods to teach students at the finite math level. Doesn't answer questions, homework is extremely hard and doesn't relate to class. Avoid at all costs.

Really bad professor. He is not helpful at all. He is boring and he makes no sense when explaining. Try to avoid him by all means. I have issues with math, I try to talk to him so he can help me, but instead he is making my life harder.

The material taught in class is not at all related to the material tested on or the software that you use online. This class stressed me out and was way too much work for the university math requirement. Professor Hakim is super confusing and doesn't answer students questions in class or at office hours. Do not take this class. Just don't.

This class is not supposed to be hard but he makes it sooo hard and he is a bad teacher. Homeworks don't relate to class and tests are totally different. He is not a bad person, he is just not a good teacher. Very confusing, hard, and boring. Do not take this class if you have any other alternatives.
