To start off with, his classes are very challenging, especially Calc II. He teaches you everything you need to know and cares about your grade exactly as much as you do. If you put in the work and still need help he'll bend over backwards to make sure you understand it.

He's a guy who doesn't care if you fail or pass. If you ask him questions, he will make you feel stupid, some students say it's on purpose. I do not recommend him at all, but some students really like him. I am very, very happy to be out of his class.

Dr. Palmer is a great professor and makes his classes interesting. He is always willing to help if you ask, and gives lots of in class examples to help you better understand course material. His classes can be difficult, but if you work hard you'll be fine.

Comment:

Palmer is a great teacher, and he's very friendly and willing to help, and he gives plenty of in class examples. The book isn't necessary for the class at all, but some of the answers to the WebAssign homework and take home exams are in the back of the book. (Even if the numbers are changed, it can help you see if you're doing the problem right.)

Palmer is a good teacher, just very tough. He expects you to study the material on your own at least 12 hours a week and if you don't you will likely have a c or lower. Lots of work, but he is very smart

Was a little difficult, but that's expected in Calc II. If you have questions, go to his office and he will take time to go through problems step-by-step with you. Let's you know what section each question will be about on tests. Keep up with your homework and ask questions and you'll do just fine.

Took quite a few high level courses from him. His tests are difficult but they cover the topics thoroughly. He grades very fairly and you know exactly where you made your mistake. Very clear teaching style. The higher the class level, the more fun he has with it. Stick with him in higher level courses and he'll definitely grow on you.

Sadly, he doesn't say if you will, anymore. He has another phrase that he uses, now, but I took the class last semester and I can't remember what it was. The "textbook" we had was absolute rubbish, it was a workbook. I couldn't follow him and failed the class. I'm taking it at the University Center, this semester and I have nearly a 100%.
