I took a course with her first year and was struggling to understand her expectations. When I met with her, she asked what my English grades were in high school and when I explained I had an average of 99% for all 4 years, she told me that was hard to believe as my work didn't reflect that and she didn't help me improve my work. Terrible experience

she's a lovely person, but you have to learn to work with her teaching style. she works very hard to help you succeed as long as you are making an effort.

Took the class as I had taken one with her before. Starting experiencing problems after finding out about disabilities and appointments. Refused to compromise on work submitted.

I didn't have a good experience with Dr. Andrews. When I asked for help on a paper or an assignment, she refused saying that I wasn't trying. She always forgot my name even though I took two classes with her, which I found pretty disrespectful. She would mark midterms without comments and she was a hard marker. On a positive note, she marked quick.

Andrews is a great prof. She really cares about her students. Very approachable. Very flexible (she usually has no problem giving extensions). Seems very passionate about the material. Very personable and funny. Encourages discussion. There is a lot of reading, but that's to be expected in an upper year English course. Amazing prof.

Not the best prof, but she's a super lovely person. I think if she would choose better books the class would improve considerably

what can't jen andrews do? one of the best, interested, enthusiastic and in-tune-with-students in the english dept. she takes difficult and intimidating material, and contextualizes it and makes it relevant within the class. she demands a lot of her students, but it's worth the effort you'll put in. when you're good to mama, mama is good to you.

Great prof, very enthusiastic about the course material. While lecturing she had clear opinions of the meaning of the pieces we studied, but was accepting and encouraging of different viewpoints.

Very insightful, well-spoken prof. She can be intimidating, but if you get to know her on a personal level and she recognises that you work hard, she takes that into consideration. She is big on perfection for an A (literally no mistakes) but thats how it should be and she makes you a better writer.

She is nice, and I learned a lot...but what a super bad marker! I put so much time and effort into my final essay, and she gave a really undeserving mark. Don't take her if you're trying to maintain a high GPA. She's reluctant to give out A's, or high marks for that matter.

Says she has no sense of humour and laughs at her own jokes (which are pretty awful)which in turn makes everyone laugh. Interesting and knowledgeable; VERY approachable. If you read the material, and have something to say about it, she is happy.
