Comment:
Professor Brown is extremely intelligent and passionate in the field of aboriginal history, but she is not a good teacher. Her lectures bounce all over the place and rarely find a common pattern. Much of her class time is wasted with quest lectures and presentations that often do not apply to tested material. NIce and helpful but boring!

An absolutly fabulous prof. Well educated, but not pretentious she challenges students to engage in critical thinking beyond the norm. You do have to do a lot of reading and be willing to invest in the course, just have a good attitude!

A lot of this class was just wasted time. It was dreadfully dull, and I learned very little. It was more about historians she enjoys. Too much group work and presentation for a first year class--most of it not worth a clear percentage of the final grade. Lacked clarity in many ways.

When you understand history, you understand humanity. Brown confronts you to think in this course. She is not forcing you to think, rather you cannot help it. This course asks you how YOU will influence history.

Very nice woman, pleasant and helpful with students. She does not exude any self-confidence and it is reflected in the classroom. Interesting topics used for discussion but too much lecture time wasted on guest speakers, etc.

I am shocked at the low rating of Prof Brown. Her honors-level Natives and Newcomers was a delight. She is extremely kind and caring and very helpful. She loves her subject and is good at stimulating ideas. Highly recommended.

Has based her entire existence on another culture, whatever you do don't pick appropriation of culture for an essay, it's too close to home.
