I took 4 of his classes from 1988 to 1995 (It didn't take me 7 years to finish college - I went USMC in between). He was the most influential professor in my life! To this day, I still think of his classes. I think all schools ought to have a Dr. Miller and all students should have to take at least one class!!!

Dr. Miller means well but he is intrusive into the lives of his students. I really did not enjoy his class. He used one model throughout the entire class, and it was rudimentary.

Miller is awesome! There are no tests or quizzes, only papers. They are easy to write and the class revolves around discussion. If you want a challenge, take his course!

Great professor. there's four two-page papers and four five-page papers, but they arent extremely hard and he gives you enough time to do them. Just be open to anything. he's very into what he teaches and makes the class interesting. i would defintely reccomend him.

Great professor. People thinking about taking philosophy need to understand that a large part of the responsibility relies on you being open. Miller is great at questioning things, and if you have an idea dont get offended, he's probably smarter and read alot more than you :) Awesome classes with him...his authored works are great too.

Dr. Miller seriously is the best teacher at SU. He's extremely smart and well-read, logical, provacative, sometimes inappropriate (he might throw an eraser at you or tell you to shut-up). But all in all he is going to challenge you intellectually and you'll leave the class with a more developed world-view. He just plays the role of an SOB well.

This guy was the most obnoxious, boring, self-absorbed person I had a class with in college. Can't see anyone else's perspective, has to challenge every single idea you put out there. It is like whatever the opposite of conventional thinking is, that's what he thinks the answer is. Get some real clothes, too.

Great teacher if you really want your mind to be blown! Classes are intellectually exhausting. HE CAN BE AN SOB but he is good natured. He cusses alot. Papers are easy, all due by the end of the semester but I don't recommend doing it that way. Really funny and he makes you think which is refreshing in comparison to most other classes.

I've had three classes with Dr. Miller, and he's absolutely the best professor I've yet had. Don't pass up the chance to take a class which is taught by a genius at teaching. If you need help, he will discuss anything with you; lets you rework papers for a better grade. If you walk out of his classes in anything less than a daze, see a doctor.

Extremely passionate about philosophy. Hard grader on the papers b/c he forces to you think philosophically and it's hard to BS. However, he lets you redo any paper any amount of times until you get the grade you want. Frustrating at times but overall is very enlightening. A true philosophy class.
