Comment:

Mr. Frang's class was not easy by any means, but it was not a whole lot more difficult than it should have been. Calculus is hard. He is more than willing to help you if you are having trouble. Intimidating as he may be, if you approach him you'll benefit. He once allowed me to makeup a test at his house because i was in Mexico during the semester.

VERY HARD TEACHER!! It is very hard to follow him in this class. I always considered myself great at math, granted this is calculus, but I couldnt understand him most of the time. He expects you to teach yourself and LOTS OF HOMEWORK!! Hes very intimidating and I was scared to approach him for help despite everyone saying hes helpful.

Took a calc class over the summer, and quickly learned that his daily phone calls were cigarrette breaks. However, he has had years of math experience and knows what he is talking about. If you don't judge, he won't judge. If you dont understand,keep asking & he will get you through it. Great analogies, and I wouldn't have gotten it if not for him.

He's not an easy instructor so don't expect an easy A. He is willing to help after class. You must know your algebra, he won't review it. For an A, attend class and participate - every day, review material before class, buy the solutions manual, do the homework, ask questions, study for tests and seek his help when you need it.

I dont like him as much as everyone else. That being said, heres how bad it is, I had intermediate algebra with him and failed the class. Later I found out I didnt need intermediate alg. Next semester I took college algebra and I ended up with a B ! Go figure.

he does not explain anything just expects you to teach yourself. does not fully show how to do the work. and wants the steps but does not even show them in class. useless! do not take this teacher horrible!!!! if you do get him make sure you have extra help for the homework!

Frang is a "know it all" who seems to get pleasure out of messing with a students head by purposefully writing an equation wrong on the board and expects you to figure it out on your own. This guy is the worst teacher in the universe and i would never take any of his courses again! good luck in his class because that's the only way you will pass!

Apparently I am just another statistic... I also had to drop this class. He could not possibly be more unclear. The only way this class is possible is if you have no other classes. He will help, but the class really is a blood bath. We started with 40 students and had about 15 left when I had to drop. Lets hope for his retirement soon.

Jerry Frang is different than most instructors I've had. The material to start; is Very Difficult, and if you don't have a handle on Extremely Advanced Algebra...don't sign up for calc211 w/him. I felt bad for him this semester...I was in a class of people who did nothing but complain. He's a good teacher if you give him the chance. He has a different way of teaching and if you don't understand it, he does make time to help you understand it. I'd take his class again if I had to.

Frang is not the bad person everyone makes him out to be. You do have to teach yourself as he's not great at explaining, and do lots of homeowork, but he's very willing to help you one on one. Its Calculus. Its hard. Bone up on your algebra ahead of time if you want a chance at a decent grade. I withdrew and must re-take with a diff. teacher.

I will admit, Frang has a different teaching method; but overall it is not that difficult to understand. He is just not one to spoon feed ADULTS!! In my opinion, he does a good job. Keep up the good work.

THIS IS THE WORST PROFESSOR IN THE WORLD!!!! He has no idea what he is talking about. He does not really know how to teach math at all. I just want to throw myself off a cliff sitting in his class. His personal appearance makes me sick. His grading is absolutely horrible. He really should think about crawling in a hole and stay there forever!!!

He will do half of a problem & then say "the rest is boring" Just leaving the unfinished examples on the board.He chastized me for taking notes during his lectures, constant coughing, loses his train of thought, told me NO when asked to go over test,nit picky grading system(taking 2 points for no paraenthesis,though answer was correct)
