Dr. P is a really likable dude. He's friendly, funny and wise. However, his teaching style is incredibly underwhelming considering how venerated he appears to be. He spent over 5 weeks showing us movies instead of teaching us the material on our midterm (the review was over 80 questions- we were tested on only 10 of them). (to be cont.)

BEST PROFESSOR I have had! Yes, its tough but worth it! He 3's his students & shows it by pushing you to succeed & work hard. He also helps students come out of their shell. I have learned so much about our constitutional rights & feel better prepared for law school. Take him if you 3 challenges! If you are lazy, then u wont make it.

Polinard is one of the funniest and most interesting professors I've had. His Con Law course is NOT for slackers. There are briefings due at the end of the semester and two tests. One test over the first half of court cases reviewed in class, and the other test over all court cases reviewed the whole semester. Interesting class, but challenging.

Dr. P is the best! Makes class interesting & fun. Took him both semesters 2387 & 2388. Class consists of 2 essays, 1 midterm & 1 final. Tough grader on essays; have to be clear & concise. Study guide is everything! 12 essay topics, 20-30 Short Response & 40-50 Key Words. Half for midterm & rest for final. Chooses 1 topic, 4 SR, 5 KW's for exams.

As I remember from many years ago, Dr. Polinard was one of my very best professors. I don't remember the class number and just chose one to enable the Form. The textbook question is another guess.

There are two tests, of both only have 10 of the easiest questions you have ever done, all you need to do is make sure you do the review that he hands out at the beginning of the semester. And there are also two essays to do, one on the movies you watch and another on the schools of jurisprudence, and an optional 3rd essay to boost up your grade. Best professor ever!!

Dr. Jerry Polinard has got to be one of the best professors the university has to offer. You will learn and at the same time bust your booty to get a good grade. However, if you work really hard for it you will earn it. HIS COURSES ARE NOT FOR SLACKERS. Mandatory attendance and readings. YOU WILL NOT REGRET TAKING HIM!

I've taken Polinard for a few class already, so here's a general overview. His essays are hard b/c they require a specific style of writing; be concise. Take notes, and pay attention. For ConLaw; NOTECARDS. His final is comprehensive; you'll need to memorize 100+ Supreme Court cases.

I took Government from then Mr. Polinard in 1967. He is indeed a very determined 60's guy loyal to racial equality and Liberal Progressive causes. He dos have a commanding knowledge of his subject. He however does use derisive remarks for people who have unfounded beliefs. I confessed my race bias at the time; but,did not suffer for it. Made an A.

Dr. Polinard is a great professor. One of the best on campus without a doubt. You will work hard in his class, but in return you will learn. There is a reason he is one of two Piper professors on campus. Pay attention in class he will crack jokes and hold class discussions that are very interesting and thought provoking.

There's never a dull moment in his class and you must work for your grade. Pay attention to the syllabus, he does not allow students to slack off. Overall, if you work hard enough, you will do well in his clas

This professor is arbitrary in his grading style. He will completely play favorites and it shows in not only the class discussions but also the final grades. I have never been exposed to group self hate- however this professor obviously does not appreciate his people (Caucasians) he called a girl in our class "white bread" all semester.

He is super funny and looks like chicken little, jk. But he is very tough and you need to know your stuff. Never show up unprepared!!! All professors should follow his example. He is one of few professors at UTPA who are what a professor is supposed to be. As long as your caught up, you'll love what you get out of the class, very helpful dude.

Dr. Polinard is an amazing professor! Simply brilliant and has a great sense of humor. Get to know him personally. Do what he says. You will get an education. Perhaps not an easy A, but in his class you will discuss same-sex marriage, abortion, death penalty... all sorts of great discussions. Just do your part as a student and put in some effort.
