Comment:

Levin has been the hardest grader I've had in both the undergrad and grad program at St Joes. I remember leaving her class being so frustrated for bringing down my GPA. Naturally I wasn't thrilled about taking her again for grad school, but I had to. I've received an A in every course so far, except hers! She is out to get you. Avoid if possible!

I did not find Dr Levin's class to be stimulating. She rarely allowed for class debate or questioning of underlying assumptions made during lectures. She took points OFF students papers for citing references in APA format, as this was 'not required.' If you want a professor that challenges u and encourages u to exceed expectations, look elsewhere.

Dr. Levin is an amazing professor. She's very passionate about special education and it really shows in her teaching. She makes class very intimate where you really get to know your peers and always have a chance to share out. She's the only professor I have taken that knew all her students names and a bit about them. Class is very informational!

The coursework was difficult (it is grad school, after all), but I feel that I have learned the most in Dr. Levin's class. If you participate, study, and ask questions, you will do fine. One of the best grad school professors I have ever had - I wish she taught more classes that I was required to take!

I was horrified about taking this class when I read all these posts. I'm glad I decided to stay with her class and form my own opinion. Yes, she is definitely a tough professor, and she expects a lot from you. However, she was also very helpful and understanding. Don't take this class if you are looking for an easy A.

She expects a lot from you, assignments are very specific and the quizzes and exams are very challenging. You have to put in the time and study! Sometimes it felt like she thought we were kindergartners instead of college students learning about teaching kindergarten. She can be controlling and condescending but she will aslo teach you a lot.

Not a nice person. Plays favorites, once she makes her mind up about you that's it...there are other professors that have more to offer than her. Rooney, for example, knowledgeable and the nicest person you will ever meet.

Before taking this class I read a lot of these posts and was TERRIFIED of what everyone was saying. Now that the class is over, I honestly feel like I learned more than I've learned in any other class. Was it difficult? ABSOLUTELY. But if you actually do the work and study, you'll get a good grade. Also, I didn't think she was mean at all.

Dr. Levin is old school, but very knowledgeable except she ALWAYS has something to say..she's ALWAYS right! Her assignments are VERY specific, but if you work hard and follow her guidelines, you will produce the grade you deserve. Her exams (2 quizzes- directly from the textbooks, 1 midterm & 1 final) are VERY difficult. You must study to pass.

Being a hard grader and hard on us inorder for us to learn is one thing, being rude and arrogant is another. She is rude and tries to use her "power" to be intimidating! This women is very rude, mean, all knowing and extremely condescending. She ruins people's grades. She thinks shes so great, whereas she's extremely bias and judgmental.She takes weeks to return assg'ts so that she can write an evaluation report. Levin is hands down the worst Professor in the Child Study department, possibly even all of St. Joes. She is conceding, extremely difficult, a hard grader and doesn't want you to be absent once. She will destroy your GPA and criticizes all your work. I should of listened to this web site. DO NOT TAKE HER!Its really not worth it the aggravation.

She comes across nice at first. Her work load is very overwhelming. She will never tell you what is on the tests!! I had asked her if she could give us a breakdown on the final and she gave me the chapters!! WTF Ok So for 25 multiple choices, 5 fill-ins and 2 essays we had to study 8 chapters??? Avoid Levin like the plague!!

Worst teacher I ever had at St. Joe's! I dropped her class mid-semester because she told me that I was going to fail her class if I didn't pass the final. I recommend you do NOT take her class. She's rude and doesn't care what you think.
