Even though there isn't a lot of assignments, if you do bad on one, it will significantly drop you grade. She is a tough grader, and assignments can be kind of vague since she only posts the descriptions in the syllabus. She is a nice lady, and a fun teacher, but assignment wise it could have been better

Super nice, obviously cares about her students. 5ish pop quizzes, 3 papers. Skim the articles before class, have her proof read your papers before you turn them in, and go to class and its an easy A.

Jill's a fantastic teacher. Raters who claim she is a hard grader clearly did not do the readings. Jill has 5-6 pop quizzes a semester which are so easy if you do the readings. She provides multiple questions you can choose from. So even if you only did one reading you could get a 100. Participate and be kind. Everyone should take Jill's class!!!

I thoroughly enjoyed the content of Dr. Wood's class, and she definitely knows what she's talking about. HOWEVER, she is an absurdly tough grader to the point of being unfair. She doesn't set clear guidelines on assignments and takes off arbitrary points. Class is "laidback," but it doesn't translate into assignments. Tons of reading as well.

Jill was my absolute favorite professor. Her lectures are funny, informative, and she relates them to the real world. She's also incredibly helpful--always willing to meet with you to make sure you understand the material, as well as assist with papers and editing. Take this class!

Jill is an amazing professor. Her lectures are always so interesting and she has a great sense of humor. Class is super laid back and welcoming. She will always answer questions specifically and very thoroughly. There are readings for every class and sometimes pop quizzes but she usually hints when there will be one. Take her class! She's awesome.

Jill is very laid back and a very interesting prof. I was taking this class as an easy gen ed and after completing it, really opened my eyes to a lot of issues around the world. Def take this class. If you are literate and open to different thought processes take this class. If not stay away. Very easy grader and very easy class.

Jill is the best professor I've ever had at PSU. As a BBH major I was nervous about the WMNST listing but would take the class again if I could!! I love Women's Health and this class makes you think about things from a whole new perspective. I would recommend this to anyone interested in women's health.

I thought this class was easy and interesting. I have to admit you do have to write 3 papers and then you have a large project at the end, at least for my class anyway. But you learn a lot from this class, things you probably didn't know before. I do recommend this class for men. I especially enjoyed the class discussions. Highly recommended class.

Jill is a wonderful professor. If you are at all open minded you'd do well in her class. Must people who suffer or write negative opinions are obviously not understanding her intentions. She is extremely passionate and knowledgeable and wants you to learn. The only people I've seen who do not enjoy the class text and don't show up. Their loss.

easy class.i learned a lot but its kinda an upsetting class to take if you are a girl because you realize how bad society treats us.only one paper, no tests.the rest of the class is just about ten minutes a week! very easy A. highly recommended!just write about how men are bad and women are suppressed and jill wood will give you all the points

She is a very understanding and down-to-earth professor. She respects everyone’s opinions and she is very approachable. Her grading system is really fair. Just come to class and do the readings. I highly recommend WMNST 001.
