A boring class but very easy. Sparknotes will be your best friend and help you to get an A. Easy response papers and decent tests. Quizzes are easy if you know and understand what you've read (SPARKNOTES!). I highly recommend taking him.

took for the novel. class was easy as long as you read the books. no textbook required just 7 novels throughout the semester. gives a 20 q quiz on each book. 2 tests couple papers pretty easy also. if you like to read, take! very nice guy to boot, but can be boring at times when lecturing in class.

Dr. Dollar was an all-around good guy. He splits the class into participation, quizzes on the longer readings, and 3 papers which were 5-6 pages each. He is a very fair grader. Class discussions weren't very entertaining, but I would definately recommend Dr. Dollar to anyone!

English is my major, so I was so excited to take a Great Books class... but he is absolutely the driest, most boring teacher ever. He's incredibly nice, and very loveable, but watching him try to spark a discussion, is like trying to watch a fish walk. It just doesn't happen.

Dr. Dollar has got to be one of my favorite teachers at siena, he is THE MAN!! take him for every english class that you can, he's so funny, in a dorky kind of way -- and he even adopts children from africa -- what a nice guy!! Take him if you ever have the chance!!

Could be one of the nicest professors in the school. Reminds me of a late James Taylor. I expected him to bust out a litte fire and rain at any moment. The entire test is recalling characters names, very easy to study for!!!!
