Gets confused by his own examples. Tests are extremely difficult and in no way on par with the other sections. Assigns plenty of homework but can only be bothered to grade one randomly selected problem, so you don't get any feedback if you are making mistakes. Starts timed quizzes 3-4 minutes before class actually begins. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

Terrible teacher. While other classes are allowed to use note cards and other resources on tests, Prof. Lyall does not allow any and the test is harder in addition. Examples are short and undetailed, while tests and quizes are very tedious. Don't take this Professor, take Dr. Post or even Zhao.

Dr. Lyall's methods can be abrasive at times. However, I learned a lot about communications systems. I had to. If I didn't I would have failed. If you are willing to put forth the effort that it takes (and it takes a lot) to do well in Dr. Lyall's class you will be rewarded for it.

I still get nervous whenever I talk to him.It's like being at an interview at a huge company.Takes his responsibility as an engineer very seriously. "If your calculations are wrong, people die!" Damn!! He got skinny!! I still have a picture of him with a beer gut. haha Good times good times.
