I had Jim for 2 English classes in 1982 and 1983. I selected him at the advice of my neighbor who had him. I was glad I did. He as always happy, energetic, full of funny jokes and short stories. He was unique. He seemed to love to be in class. I had a great time at Suffolk. Dowling teachers were horrible. Wished Suffolk was a 4 year school !!

AWESOME TEACHER!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I really wish every teacher was like him <3 he brings us snacks and would teach us random but useful information. He's the only prof. who said I could really succeed and had hope for me. Because of him I made it to Stony Brook and getting my BA <3

Professor Mattimore was one of the greatest professors to grace his presence at Suffolk Community College. He is such a kind and gentle spirit and will be missed by thousands and thousands of former students. He was such a joy to have as a professor, and boy, did he LOVE his students.

An awesome teacher!!! I had him spring semester. He took us for a few walks around campus to get us out of the building! He definitely made class fun and didn't care if you were there or not! But he definitely noticed. He called me a few times after class to see why wasn't there! He really cares for his students! LOVE HIM <3

Mattimore is the sweetest man in the world! He'll call you if he knows he's going to be absent, not strict on attendance, there's no tests, only a 1-2 page paper at the end. He really cares about his students and is hysterical. Easy A. Take him!

Best professor everrrrr. He brings food everyday for you!!!! He is a very respectable person. Doesn't give homework, just short stories to read that takes like 10 minutes or less. Easily one of the best professors you will every have.
