His lecture style is boring but the notes he writes on the blackboard are extremely effective. For 95% of the questions on the exam there was an answer for it in his notes.

I beileve the question has been asked before... What does he keep in his pockets? Its mind boggling. The class was easy, his method of teaching is boring but his notes are effective... if you can read his writing. Atronomy can be an interesting subject, and using the telescope can be fun (telescope only offered in the fall semester)

Pleva's a very sweet old guy, but be prepared for some boring lectures. There are about a million videos to watch, through which sleeping is not a problem, really. If you have vision troubles, don't sit at the back... he writes on the board in awkward cursive writing. It's a pain in the ass to try to read. Not too bad a class!

Astronomy class was on nights. It was hard to stay awake though the video serise made in the 80s. He reminds me fondly of my grandpa. You can tell he really loves the stuff that he's talking about, but he isn't very engaging. He likes to ramble a bit, but the class is a breeze. I don't know if I actually gained more by not taking the night course.

I'm not interested in physics or music, but somehow converged on Acoustics of Music. Surprised with results considering essay is descriptive and worth 50% of mark. Technical equations are a bit tedious. Overall interest in course is healthy. Experiments are not to be missed! Real smoothie.
