Great teacher. Goes very slow so you understand everything. You will learn a lot and never feel confused. No need to do the homework from the book, but do the worksheets which he will accept late with no penalty. Tests are over what you learn in class. Awesome teacher for math!

This is the second time I've had Jim for a math teacher and both times he was excellent! Definitely the best math instructor I've ever had...I just wish he taught Calc III (262)! His teaching style is very logical. He goes at a reasonable pace and makes sure he answers questions fully and then some. If your taking Calc, take Jim!

For being away from math for a long time I was worried about going back to college. He is very informative and goes well out of his way to help you in any way. He helped me in non office hours several times. Tests arent too bad, you know what to expect, no surprises. Great teacher, breaks math down and makes it easy. One of my favorite professors at delta. Highly recommend!!!!

Jim does a great job! I've seen good and bad math teachers and he is definately on the good side. I participated in class, did ALL the handouts, and used the learning center before tests, but did NO homework in the book and managed an A-. I was the best grade in the class, so if math isn't your thing I recommend doing the homework in the book!!

Excellent teacher. Gives you the tools you need without clouding it up with a bunch of self-serving math genius info some profs offer. He's a seasoned instructor who knows what's needed. Always helpful if you step up and speak up. Dialed me in on things I was weak in and reinforced where needed. Put forth the effort and you'll suceed with JimRoz.

Jim is such a good teacher!!! He made everything so easy to understand and he is not afraid to tell it like it is. He is by far the BEST math teacher I have ever had period. He is very fair in grading and always helps if asked. He is all in all an amazing teacher and person.

Jim was a pretty good instructor, even though I didnt understand what was going on in the class at all. I managed to get out of there with a C. If you make an effort and ask for help he's always available during office hours and after class. If I wouldve used him more Im sure I wouldve done much better in the class.

Very good teacher!!! The best math explainer I have ever had! I never read the book, or did homework problems from the book and did exceptionally well in his class. He can make you feel stupid for asking questions but if you show up and listen, you won't have any questions!! Jim ROCKS. Period.

Comment:

Solid teacher, explains things well and offers help to students who put forth an honest effort. While he can be somewhat patronizing at times, he does convey material well. If you're looking for an instructor that can teach well and not dance around in front of the class to keep people awake, Jim is an ideal professor.

His teaching style was effective enough, however I think he mentioned that he assumed that most of the students were math majors. I had to take this class to meet gen ed transfer requirements. I wasn't exatly pleased with the infrequency with which he responded to my e-mails. I at least attempted to communicate.

He is a pretty good teacher. If you ask him a question outside of class or through e-mail though, he kind of makes you feel dumb or like it is an annoyance to him. A couple times he never even replied to my e-mails. If you have a lot of time to study, then you will do fine. The final is very hard! It is much harder than the tests.

Very thorough teacher. If you are willing to spend the time outside of class to learn the material then you will have no problem. Tests are very detailed, but an "A" is very obtainable.
