I took 3 classes with him this year. No textbook! Go to class, he has good lecture notes that have parts to fill. He speaks very clearly, and writes neatly on the board. There's always only a 50% midterm and final. The written is mostly on basic stuff, and the MC is more specific. He can be funny sometimes. Overall a nice guy and easy to talk to.

I really enjoyed this class. Only graded with a 50% midterm 50% final, which was a little daunting, but I was glad to not have another group project. He teaches you things that will actually matter and effect you in the real, marketing world, not just theory. Dry sense of humour. There was no textbook use but I took notes all class and every class.

Mostly spends the lecture time going off on tangents about himself. Lecture notes he posts don't match his own slides which makes adding notes to them confusing, and has random fill in the blank notes that he doesn't even always provide answers too. Hard to review anything because there's no textbook. 50% midterm and 50% final

There is no textbook so attendance is mandatory. Grading criteria is confusing and I found that asking for clarification does not helps. Emails answering yous questions tend to be vague so It does not clarifies your question.

Terrible. If you ask him to clarify his marking criteria, he doesn't he try and answer you and just beats around the bush.

Class average is extremely high - like over 89%. So there is potential to get rocked by the curve. Have to go to lectures since he repeats these "one-liners" constantly and there is no textbook. Because he repeats things so often it gets boring and hard to pay attention - BUT this means you remember the things he says naturally without studying.

Lectures were very disorganized. Memorize and pay close attention to everything he says, the exams are completely based off of what he talks about in class. The group project is a waste of time with no tangible benefits, in no way does it further enhance students' understanding of marketing communications. Better off watching lectures on youtube.

Very confusing prof, didn't even cover all of the lecture material that was supposed to be included in your group projectfinal exam. Would've done MUCH BETTER in this course if I had a different prof.

Tests weren't hard, but taking him seriously was. He's so scattered, it's hard to get what he's trying to say. He goes off on tangents a lot. The notes are random clippings from the powerpoint and he always forgets to include important slides and then never provides them. Listen in class cause any particular sentence he says could be on the tests.

Great prof. Class is largely psychology based, which made it super interesting. No textbook - must show up & take notes. His note handouts are very confusing and disorganized. 1 midterm and a non-cumulative final (50% each). Would definitely recommend Jim for this class. He is very knowledgeable and has a bit of an ego but is absolutely hilarious.

I absolutely love Jim! I love how his lectures are very psychological based and it definitely allowed me to perceive the business world in a different perspective. His lectures are very engaging, enjoyable, and relateable to today's market. No textbook - just attend class and take notes.

Jim's a good guy , but he is old school. He reminds me of a high school teacher. Show up and take notes and you'll do fine. If you don't, he won't like you and it will show up in your marks and how he treats you. Like I said, if your high school teachers loved you, Jim will too. Otherwise, enrol with a different prof

Jim is a lovely guy, but I hated the class. The curve can really mess you up. Also the class project is stupid, and time consuming. There is no textbook but you must go to class because the exams are based on Jim's notes... I didn't learn anything new. I would avoid this class. But the prof overall is a likable guy. Makes funny jokes in class.

This guy was AWESOME! No textbook, minimal reading for his class. Exams were super easy if you just memorize the notes. Yes the curve is brutal (our class, 86.8% = A-, 86.7% = B+), but if you know everything (which isn't much) then you'll ace the class. Attend class! He tells you lots of things that aren't in his posted notes.

Chill guy! Awesome course very informational and ease of course makes it fun to come! I would say that his jokes are at times awkward and tend not to be funny but rather naughty jokes but other then that he is a good guy!
