Jim was a lot of fun to have as a prof, his lectures were informative and made the information hard to forget because you always had his anecdotes in the back of your head. He gives really good feedback during critiques which is super helpful and is super supportive in your learning journey, no judgement if you are insecure about that sort of thing

Jim talks. Alot. Never stops. I enjoy talking TO him, but when hes showing us examples, it can take up to an hour. And he completly takes over crits. He will also give up on trying to explain how you can improve a painting and do it himself. He's a really passionate teacher and I really enjoyed his class, but these few things need to be worked on.

Great prof! He made art history enjoyable. You only have to take notes for the 10-15 minute reviews he does at the beginning of each class, then sit back and relax. The exams are super easy and he gives you the EXACT long answer question(s) that will be on the exam

Jim's great. He's really enthusiastic about what he's teaching, and tries his best to make dull stuff interesting. Makes it almost impossible to do poorly in his class; he reviews EVERYTHING, which is awesome.
