TERRIBLE: AVOID AT ALL COSTS! He doesn't even know his own material and confuses himself in class. Your better off learning out of the textbook yourself. As a result, he fabricates tests that make no sense based off what he has attempted to teach.

I took 157 not in Burnaby but in Surrey with Abraham Punnen.For people who need to take 157 TAKE IT IN SURREY. YOU WILL NOT GET LOWER THAN A B IN THAT CLASS. I did not take 157 with Verner cause he is a hard prof. Take it with Punnen, I got an A+ in that course and I did not do calculus in High School. You will not get less than a B in Surrey

By far the worst prof I've ever had. Extremely challenging.!!!!!WARNING: GET OUT NOW!!!!! If you are in his class here are some tips: Be in every math lab with the ta's, do ALL the loncapa, do all the extra quizzes etc. every little bit helps!

Avoid taking this class with Verner. Constantly makes mistakes in lectures and material covered in class does not help with exams or homework. I ended up teaching myself from the textbook. Both the midterm and final were very difficult and you'll end up relying on the curve to get through this course, if you do.

He was a fair teacher. What ever he taught us in class was on our midterms and final (which were straight forward if you attended lecture and did assignments). Totally nice guy, but not the best teacher. I basically learned from the text. Fair teacher in all.

TOTALLY USELESS!! U R NOT GONNA LEARN ANYTHING IN HIS CLASS. i got an A+ but i never went to his class since the 2nd week. i had to read the textbook myself for every single chap. He's worse than just reading off his notes. he confused everyone with his mistakes in notes and everything!! DROP IT IF U TAKE IT WITH HIM!!

Midterms and assignments were alright but final exam was on the whole challenging...and very poorly worded and confusing. He seems to spend way too much time on the simple stuff and then he was afraid that he'll be short of time, so he FLEW through the hardest topics of the course...and expects us to understand it...useless!!

MY LORD THIS GUY IS****NDOUS!!! He cannot teach. He makes constant mistakes, has terrible notes, irrelavent practice exams, must I go on? His midterms are completely irrelavant to the things hes taught us and his final is super hard and he even puts question form math 158 or math 151 in our tests! More than half our class is failing because of him

Several bad things and one good thing about him: late to class on the exam dates and did not give us extra time to compensate, yelled out # and marked down students' paper (distracting), his questions are not hard but somewhat irrelevant to the text questions (do his practice questions), shows willingness to teach in the workshop

He keeps informing students to "put in more effort," and blames the students for getting low marks! it's his fault he can't teach, makes unheard of MT q's, is rude and unapproachable (except for a handful of favorites). He can't really explain the concepts and all of the mistakes that he makes just make it worse. His notes are okay but then again the mistakes in them just confuse you even more...His midterms are kind of hard. Not recommended...
